That's where the focus should be. Going for a blocked punt at that point in time. We had a chance to get the ball with a good bit of time left on the clock. Time to put together a drive that allowed us to run the ball. Our o-line was doing well all game and Ridley could have carried the load.

Too bad though because of a dumb move of aggressive play and running into the kicker. Sure the botched int call HURT LIKE HELL but that was out of LSU's control.

The penalty on the punt though.... That REALLY hurt because it was a direct result of a mistake of one of our own.

Proud of the team though. They showed a tremendous amount of heart and left it all out on the field.

Yes, I agree with this and maybe the rush shouldn't have been called. However, it was a gutsy call, Graff came really close to blocking it and the offense needed a spark at that point in time in the game. IMO that kind of running into the kicker is not usually called.

:geaux: Totally agree with you. No penalty and we get the ball back. Instead, they get new life and convert a first down. Kinda like the Arkansas game last year when penalties kept the defense from getting off the field. But like you, I'm proud of the team. They fought hard all game. Tough loss though. :LSU231:

I can't believe he missed it. It appeared he was there. Had he blocked it LSU would've had the ball inside the Bama 30 and possibly even scored on the play. I didn't see any breaks go our way today. Injuries, officiating, luck, whatever...the football gods (or replay devils) weren't looking out for us today. :(

I agree with you the little contact on his leg wasnt even enough to send the punter into "acting mode"

IMO, if Graff was a little more aggressive and laid out for that block, its six the other way

I don't know why you go for the block at all in that situation as it is still a very winnable game and you are going to get the ball back.

I was screaming this at the top of my lungs... There was ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to have the block on...

You live and die by the call. Bottom line is, just like UF in '07 5-5 on 4th down.

Miles made a ballsy call and I'm glad he did. It was so close, it shoulda been blocked. Penalty could be questioned, too.

I'll agree this hurt bad, even worse than the no call int. Bet high win high. :geaux:

    it was a stupid bet/call.

sometimes its best to play the percentages. You got to know when to hold them.... know when to bet the farm....

wrong time to bet the farm.
