Anybody interested in buying some season tickets? East side section 300. You have to pay tradition fund fee as well. For at least 2016, they're yours. I'm serious. I don't feel like going watch this same crap again next season.
Shane -- I do feel your pain and anger. You should have been at my house after the Ark beatdown. And I cannot watch a game with a fan of the opposing side due to my love of the Tigers and temper. I don't normally argue on the boards. But you seem like a guy who can handle a spirited debate. So do not take any of this personally......just making my point. What can we do? Well, how much do we on this board contribute to Tiger football? Make no mistake, money runs the program despite the students playing for 'free'. Athletes are attracted to nice facilities among other things and we compete with Bama and Texas. Sometimes home cooking trumps the facilities but we need everything going in our favor to get the out of state recruits. Reach out to TAF and talk with them. I am far from the biggest booster but they have shown me presentations about other school's facilities. And a couple years ago, I had a brief one on one meeting with Les. Frankly, I did not lecture him on what he was doing wrong but I guess you could during one of those sessions. They ARE available but it does cost money. Again, money runs the program. As far as the truth of where our program is really at. I think you guys are totally discounting the unpredictability of sports. Look at where the Carolina Panthers were in November 2014. Their fans were probably pissed that Ron was not fired. Was there ANY evidence that they would end up the 5 point favorites in Super Bowl 50? Keep hoping my friend.
I absolutely agree with the OP. Any discussion, any at all, since the November meltdown (in particular) has become a rant about the ineptitude that is Les Miles. It's tiresome. And it's run off some quality posters and seems to be on the verge of running off still more. I know I am not posting a ton because positive/hopeful comments get pounced on. Some of you guys call that "realism." I call it "pessimism." And that gets old--quickly.
How are fans supposed to stay positive when we know that some board members and the AD want Les gone too? Personally I don't blame Les at all for the dip in recruiting from 1 to 3. We had a 5 star kid committed for a year that didn't tell the coaches he had flipped and did it on NSD. We had a 5 star QB that flipped because of the turmoil, one could argue that there wouldn't have been turmoil had Les done his job but the AD and board mishandled this past season badly. It all boils down to 1 thing. The quarterback position and we have seen 2 seasons of really good QB play. So it seems like that is more the exception than the rule. Do you have faith Miles can get competent QB play? I personally don't. I did at one point, I used to be a Miles guy but I'm tired of being burned. I bet you though every one of us who want Les gone would be tickled to death and gladly say we were wrong if he turns this thing around. What has he done to make you think he can? And I mean with the offense. Not with a team whose defense and coordinater pull the entire weight of the program.
