Why not just wear an alternate Gold uniform with the white helmet once every year for a game?
And tell the fans to wear gold as well.

I like  uniform just the way they are, and in the SEC, I like LSU! , Auburn, and Fla. uniform. I don't like the Tenn. uniform. Ga. is pretty good.

In college football, I dislike Bama, Penn St. and ND, they are just too plain, they could use a well placed stripe and a contrast color.

I like USCw uniform, and Ohio St.

The Longhorns looked good beating USC couple years ago, even though they were in all white. Man, that Vince Young was sure good; I still enjoy the second half of the game when it comes on ESPN Classic, one of the best college games ever, IMO.

Gold jerseys be ugly. I hope I never see gold jerseys, purple pants or white helmets again. I don't even like the purple jerseys.

LSU's look is distinctive and nationally known. It would be like the Yankees changing their caps or Michigan changing those helmets to mess with the white jerseys and gold hat and pants.

Personally I would not mind seeing all white as an alternate uniform. I know some traditionalists say that white isn't a color, but it doesn't hurt to mix it up every now and then.

Actually, Penn State is one of the most "traditionalist" programs out there, and they do an all white look. I'm not sure what I would think with LSU doing it.

John, like I said, I wouldn't mind seeing it as an alternate uni, if its not liked, can it, but if fans like it bring it around every couple of years or so. Nothing wrong with change every now and then.

I do know that I hate our normal yellow "gold" helmets with our normal white jerseys and white pants. That was hideous. I saw pics of it recently, but I don't remember seeing it in a game.

Hmmm how about purple jerseys and pants with gold stripes (keep the gold headgear). I think that would look pretty kool!

IMO, purple and gold are very strong colors and cannot be used in excess. You can't have all gold, all purple, or purple and gold. Both colors are way too bright and any combo of those would look awful. Thats why I love our normal ones, because they have a good amount of white to ease the eyes a bit.

I have changed my tune about the Tulane game jerseys. I thought they were awful before but they actually are well designed and well color-coordinated, I just wasn't used to it because they just didn't "look" like LSU. And maybe it's me, but I think the purple was a different shade than the normal purple we use.
