My Brother works maint' at LSU. Apparently, theres a rumor floating around about a new jersey design next year. Anyone heard about this, or is it just that, a rumor? :tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye:
well he's right, it has no legs right now. you're the first person to say that. i personally hope there's no new jersey next year, there's no reason for it.
I think we have been hearing rumors like this every few years since Hallman was coach. Until LSU Sports Info says something, I wouldn't even give it the time of day. ldskule:
Well, look at like this. This is how the LSU Athletic Dept. explains why we wear white jerseys at home: "The tradition originated when LSU won its first national championship in 1958. Head coach Paul Dietzel had a habit of tinkering with the uniform every year. In 1958, he chose to wear white jerseys for LSU’s home games, and the Tigers subsequently won the national championship. A superstitious man, Dietzel didn’t change the uniform after that season." Look at LSU's uniform in 1958, as worn by Billy Cannon in these photos below. Notice how it's pretty much the exact same jersey that we wear today, 49 years later. In that half of a century, the only major change to the jersey has been to move the numbers (on the shoulders) from above the stripes to below the stripes. In other words, we still pretty much wear the exact same jersey worn by the 1958 team that won LSU's first national championship.
