I wish that would happen, but I don't think it's viable. I hear even Tennessee is trying to lower the number of seats in Neyland to allow for better quality seating (more space maybe?) I think they would have to do another concourse on the south side of Tiger Stadium like they did on the west with the latest addition to allow for easier entrance/exit...but it would be AMAZING:

Sure, amigo, whatever you say. Geaux Tigers.

Here is what I think is going to happen in the next 50 years. All of the SEC stadiums are aging. Most of them have additions added on in later years, with various degrees of success. None of them are suitable for much more expansion and many of them are subject to the same structural life issues as Tiger stadium. Most of the SEC will be building new stadiums in the next 50 years as their old ones deteriorate, tradition be damned.

LSU has had the best stadium in the SEC for the first 70 years of the SEC mainly because LSU thought big when Tiger Stadium was designed and the three expansions of the lower bowl were planned for. I think LSU and Tennessee have the oldest stadiums in the conference and will be the first to address the issue of stadium replacement.

I think it is important for LSU to be among the first to build a giant modern stadium with all the amenities. It will keep us with the best stadium in the SEC as the other schools linger in their old ones. The new Tiger Stadium will keep the money flowing into the AD and the TAF, it will be great for fans, and it will be fantastic for attracting coaches and recruits.

About 2020 or 2025 would be good timing, perhaps.

Just think how long the Roman Coliseum would have operated with proper upkeep and renovation (and no wars) from when it was built until now.

The only thing LSU and TAF is concerned about is how many tickets are sold; not how many are re-sold at the game.

I'm very sentimental too but, as hard as it is to separate emotions in business, hobbies, etc. I agree with red and thought he gave some very sound reasons why we should expect it. The safety issue in itself is enough, the $$$ pumpers, and to keep the program on the "Cutting edge" so-to-speak altogether........good chance.

On the same lines, have you all seen the proposed softball facility?? Talk about bringing a program to the edge.......

At the bottom of the pic, there are numbers that are different pic/perspectives.

Ummmmmmm i was planning to have my ashes scattered all over LSU so i can rest in peace for eternity.

What do i do if i die before the new stadium is built and i am scattered in the old stadium.

Then i wont be able to see my tigers unless the wind blows me over to the new stadium.

I am going to have to think long and hard now on the exact placement of my remains.

Dang why does a great plan always get messed up .
