you either fight fire with fire or get burned..good guys usually finish last..u should'nt break rules but you better damn well bend them...and as far as meyer is concerned he is delievering so thats all that matters
Standards and morals -- we have them. Last I checked Florida is trying to catch up to us where it matters.. :crystal::crystal:
These are short term tactics at best, and they do catch up to you. Nothing works better than putting a better product out than the other guy. That means winning games and offering playing time. LSU wins games but has the perception of being stacked in many positions. That will drive some recruits away. Losing a few games this year will not do it. Those same kids will regret their decisions when LSU continues to win 10+games/yr, and play for championships, while the team they picked, possibly doesn't. It's no different in recruiting than it is in business. The smart people listen to what you have to offer, and not the negative things you say about your competitor. If you buy in to that stuff, we probably don't need you.
no need to overreact. this goes on 24/7 year round. its just when fans hear one instance of it they freak out. LSU will pull in the recruits they need one year removed from a NC and 5 years removed from 2. if we are on the decline, all other programs are in the septic tank. nothing to see here, move along.
nope, nope, and hell nope Meyer loses players because of negative recruiting just as well It backfires because these kids are smart enough not to buy into it and are totally turned off by it Les, keep doing it the right way my man Who was the player that Meyer told we are racist in Louisiana and ended up at LSU anyway?
which is why most dont do it and it is largely overblown. mikes s. throws this out at about this time every year without any source and i am sure he will do it again next year. kids gotta keep his rep as an insider.
I agree......why is everyone worried about negative recruiting. That is the nature of the beast. Even our coaches use it. Thats how you recruit, is to tell these players why they should play for you and not for the other team.
Not to sound a biased as hell here but I just dont see Miles doing that kind of stuff, too much integrity, and if it means losing a few recruits because you didnt act like a jerk or a**hole ala Urban Meyer or Saban then I'm gonna take that and the coach who chose not to act that way, which I believe is Coach Miles.
