Does anyone else find it ironic that the best "trick" play Les could come up with for the BCSNCG was a fullback dive with JC Copeland?? Go figure.
The quote said "Miles told the OC to start looking for a new job after the game". I am hoping Miles brings in someone to do for the offense what Chavis did for the defense.
Well said, Sonny. This story set off the bull**** detector big time. Bottom line is we got our ass kicked. Bama was the hunter and we were the hunted. We would have had a chance to win, I believe, if Bama had actually WON the first game. Bama was fired up and prepared, whereas we seemed to almost sleepwalk into the stadium. No chance to win with Jordan Jefferson at QB, especially after they adjusted the way they played the speed option. No way is a team gonna mutiny hours before kickoff when they haven't in the previous month. This story is ridiculous. I wonder who made it up...
I also fully expect to see the same offensive coordinator and QB coach next year. Have you forgotten how much the offense improved this year? With Gunner or Zach under center, I think this offense may really take off in the next couple of years under Stud/Krags
It's a bitter pill, I know. I definitely understand where you are coming from when you talked about how inconceivable it was that this team could play this flat without some defining event. Truth is, it just flat hurts. I told my wife the next morning that I felt like I did the morning after my high school sweetheart broke up with me.
Here's the deal: both Les Miles and Nick Saban used the same game plan. They both looked at the first half of the SECCG against Georgia and used the identical game plan. The bad news is that Nick kept the ball from #7 Honey Badger.
He had absolutely d*ck to do with the phucking offense not moving past midfield and only getting 5 first downs. Sure, put the entire game on Mathieu's shoulders, that makes a ton of sense. So by this reasoning, the offense was dead because TM7 didn't give LSU a spark on special teams?
The part about TM7 was a bit "tongue in cheek". JJ played the first half of the Georgia game very similar to how he played the entire game against BAMA. You can believe BAMA looked at Georgia's first half success throwing to the tight ends and the other passes that were dropped. We're not even going to get into what so many people paid for the BCSCG tickets to see what we saw. I am already to the 5th stage of the 7 stages of grief but the good news is we will be back in a position to have a shot at it all next year.:tigereye:
Story behind national championship Some of it adds up.* Mike Lloyd (former LSU baseball player friend in Baton Rouge) said this story is picking up steam as more players are confirming this happened.* * * The truth (maybe) emerges... (Posted on 1/12/12 at 7:59 p.m.) I just heard this from a friend with ties to the LSU athletic department. I am not sure if it is true or not but a lot of the pieces fit. Apparently about 3 hours before the game T-Bob and Russell Shepard 2 other receivers and a hand full of linemen got into a heated argument with Les Miles and the Offensive Coordinator about Lee getting more playing time and possibly starting the BCS Championship game. It got so heated that Miles benched T-Bob and RS and 3 other players. He called Lee into his office and told Lee that he would not be playing in the game. The OC told Miles that he thought that Lee gave the team the best chance to win the game. Miles told the OC to start looking for a new job after the game and Miles will be calling the plays for the championship game. Apparently the O Line sided with T-Bob and Lee and did not give their all in the game to prove to Miles that the players are more important then the coach. Now I know that this is hard to believe but when you look at some things it kind of explains a few things: I will list some. Read option pass on 3rd and 10 4 times.Running the same 5 plays over 90% of the game. Horrible play calling. Running the ball in the 4th quarter down by 21. T-Bob not taking a snap. RS only playing 3 snaps and not touching the ball or getting looked at. Lee getting off the bus and walking 10 feet behind the team with his head down and looking dejected. Heated argument between receivers and JJ and O Line with O line coach on sidelines. And the kicker, reports that 2/3rds of the plays practiced were not run and the players were not told why. Again I do not know if this is entirely true but there seems to be a lot of truth in it just by seeing what happened."
