Here's the fly in the ointment of it all. Every player, has talked about this game plan they had, and how they didn't run it. How they didn't run even half the plays they had practiced. How the game we saw on TV was in no way conducted by the game plan that was supposed to be played. Why?? That is the big question. That is why conspiracy theories abound keep popping up ... because .. something doesn't make sense. If LSU had tried some 20-30 plays, and nothing was working, then so be it ... but as everyone has noted, we ran the same 6 plays all night long.
Onceanlsufan - that is exactly what I am talking about the players were deflated because what was being implemented in the actual game was not working and the entire team knew it would not work and the coaches were not making adjustments. I realize they were not running the game plan they ran in practice preceding the BCSNC game and I feel that is what was deflating the players so much that the coaches were not deviating from what was not working. I am talking about what was implemented not what was practiced. But I don't feel the conspiracy theory that there was something behind why they were running the plays they were running and why we were not adjusting at all. I feel it was that Miles did not have the confidence in Lee to come in and not throw pick 6's or pick's that would hurt the team and the pass plays that he tried to allow JJ to throw, well let's just put it this way JJ could not hit the broad side of a barn 5 yards away and we all know that. So Miles in his infinite stubbornness would not switch to Lee because he was more afraid that Lee would make the situation worse, which as I pointed out in an earlier post what does it matter if we lost 21-0 or 42-0 a loss is a loss when it is the championship game.
Yep .. that has been JLee's problem for the last few years .. his coach openly had no confidence it him. Lee deteriorated the minute JJ got back on the team, becaue as we all know, CLM had undying confidence in him. Some people just can't leave the past in the past. And .. I totally agree .. what fricken difference would have it made if we lost 21-0 or 100-0? I can tell you the answer ... at least we could say that we TRIED!! Can't say that right now.
From Smiley Anders column this morning.....on Groundhog Day, the Honey Badger woke up and saw his shadow. That means 6 more weeks of whining about Les Miles and Jarrett Lee.
