I'm guessing you're oversensitive to that because you're a coach's daughter; however, I do agree. It's somethin RARELY heard- a former player bashing a program/coach.
I take all of the coaching criticism more personally because my dad was a coach. I was defending him in the cafeteria to 2 5th grade boys when I was a 1st grader. They were saying he couldn't coach, and I told them to shut up. One of the boys replied, "You don't even know the guy." I retorted, "I DO know him. I've known him my whole life!" All six years of it... As I got older, I became much more glib in my retorts. But, yes, I hate that the players are always the reasons for wins and the coaches are always the reasons for losses.
WHAT? Are you stoned? You bring in highly touted recruits by the boat load yet year after year they underachieve. The facts absolutely support my argument Stevie Wonder.
We also cant put everything into rankings. I think the WRs have talent, it just has to be harnessed. None are real game breakers IMO. OBJ has potential to be that guy, but it remains to be seen. Landry has the best hands and runs the best routes. He just lacks the big time speed. He is more of a possession guy. Boone has good size but also lacks the route running and speed. Wright has the size but same as Boone. We dont have a WR with the potential of a Bowe, LaFell, or Doucet. They are a solid enough group. We just need to get their focus. OBJ was much better last year. The players need to show the fire and determination to improve. I think a lot of it is a mentality that was forged after the BCSCG fiasco. I dont think the kids feel that they are put in the best position to maximize talent or make plays. I do feel that Miles is losing the team to an extent.
I hope not. I just get that feeling with everything thats happened since. I think had Randle had faith in the staff he would have returned to try and get first round grade. Being that the team is regressing by the week, something is going on and its not good. I genuinely like Miles and want him to adapt. I know its tough because this is the gold era and we are a tough fan base.
You lose a team when you lose games. Win and most all is forgotten. The only ones who would give up at this point are weak pussies and don't belong here anyhow. See ya.
I think its more than that. Its a hang over from the performance and lack of adjustments in the BCSCG. Add to that the sudden regression this year.
Im just stating my perception. None of us really knows whats going on inside the locker room or in the heads of players and coaches.
Losing the team????? Well, anyone notice the LSU sideline the ENTIRE game against Alabama??? Anyone hear the comments MULTIPLE times from the announcers about how dead the sideline looked..........the entire game. Those same comments have been uttered more than once this year. If there is lack of enthusiasm that translates into some leadership problems, it usually is fairly obvious on the sidelines. Once again, this week will tell the story of where this team is this season and what can happen.
