Talent is not an actual issue at LSU unless comparing it to itself. We have more talent than any team we have faced thus far. Florida included. That's why we were favored in the swamp. That never happens. We simply got out coached which even muschamp who sucks even did.
The biggest problem (besides their "drop-the-ball-itis") is that their size is not of the elite caliber.
That's absolute BS of the highest degree. Players are largely recruited on athletic ability and potential. There is very little technique teaching at the high school level. Offensive coaches at top tier FBS schools are teachers. They are supposed to take young raw talent and mold it into College level players. If catching the ball isn't taught at the college level why does every college team run so many pass catching drills? After all they already know how to catch the ball, right? Also several of our current WR's had 1000 yard single seasons in high school. Why did they forget how to catch when they got here? Could it be that now they are playing big boy ball and you have to coach them up to that level? If it was one player dropping the ball I would say it's that player because everyone else gets it. However LSU doesn't have one single WR that consistently hangs on to the ball. Is it technique, motivation or concentration? Maybe all three, but if every single one of them has the same problem it goes back to the coaching staff. The talent is there, the staff needs to do what it takes to get them to produce.
Before this year, I would have sworn that the problem was the lack of a real QB. Because I agree, these WR's were projected to be very good. But something has hindered their development. And something else is causing them to drop balls that hit them in the hands.
That doesn't stop them from getting open and catching the ball. Maybe hurts them on a fade route to the corner of the endzone, but there are a ton of problems that need fixing before size even becomes a factor.
No, I what I like is the one receiver route pass play. Brilliant! The odds of completing this jewel is awesome. With our highly oiled passing machine, we surely can complete a pass to the ONLY receiver running a route on the play. Now that takes great faith to even call. Not just in this game, but attempted in the last three games. Now that takes an offensive genius.
So explain to me why OBJ regressed? Why was RR so much better than them all? The facts are not supporting your argument.
