Can't read the article, but it's from a rivals paysite. http://texas.rivals.com/ If someone can tell us what it says if you are a member with rivals.
Well I talked to him earlier and he was watching the Heat and the Rockets, so it didn't really seem like he was preparing to do anything big.
Mike S talked to RP and he said the trip was sweet. He also said he likes our coaching staff a lot...
he said they had a good time both, but they were disappointed b/c they couldn't go to Tiger Stadium b/c of construction! He sounded impressed though.
First of all, I start this message by saying that I am the biggest tiger fan in the world. Between listening on the radio in the late 60s/early 70s with my father, to going to over 50 games in tiger stadium to recieving my undergraduate business degree in 1982, I love LSU. My Mom and Dad graduated there and saw the great Billy Cannon. There is truly no place like it on earth, the 9th wonder of the world on saturday night. After listening to all the observations, I hate to say it but I do not think RP is coming to LSU and darn it hope I am very wrong. I liken it to the Saban decision and Tim Brando's evaluation of the situation about two weeks before the capital one bowl. He wrote in an article that if Saban did not hold a press conference from LSU at least the weekend before the bowl game, that the chances of staying at LSU would grow smaller and smaller as the time went on. The thinking that if he was going to stay he would tell the world and most importantly the recruits, but that never happended, it waited until the last possible minute, (right before his final game) to tell the tiger nation. I look at the Perrilloux situation and he has said from the beginning he is a UT commit, some apparent wavering, but the none the less the kid has not backed off. I also think this kid has some common sense and understands that he waits to the last second and changes his commitment that he really will lose credibility and trustworthiness with many outside of the tiger nation, whereas if we do not hear anything and come signing day he makes the announcement, yes tiger nation will be greatly disheartened but RP will follow through with his original commitment and feel that he followed through on what he has told everyone publically. Very sad but I think true - comments are welcome but to keep it to replys that represent plausible rebuttals. Geaux Tigers - Fight, Fight, Fight - I really hope we get RP, MB and host of others, this will not kill us we all know the phenomenal talent that the Saban brought to us. LSU!
Welcome to the board Boulder! I suspect you're right, but c'est la vie! I've enjoyed the gossip around RP and look forward to seeing what he can do wherever he goes. With or without RP, our future is very bright.
I agree I have said it before and I will say it again. He is going to UT, he has had a great ride and all the people in the state thrown roses at his feet. But when its all said and done he is going to UT. No big deal, I hope he does very well there. Always good to see Louisiana kids do well. I really dont care if I am wrong or right, LSU will survive without him, and UT will as well. I wish him the best no matter what his decision.
Boulder, it looks to me like you to the Nick Saban situation and took the negative view to see the RP situation. I look at your info like this, Saban didn't let everybody know right away that he would stick with his commitment to LSU - he waited until the last minute. RP isn't rushing to confirm his commitment to Texas, he could very well wait to the last minute. He will lose respect with Texas fans, but nobody else in the country will give a damn and it will generate plenty of buzz for him and us if it happens.
