They FINALLY gave him a 1 game suspension for that horrid tackling technique he perfected, known as the "horse collar". You basically grab the player from behind by his collar and you yank him down as hard as possible in an attempt to damage the players knee or possibly break a leg. It's pretty much the only way in which Williams seems able to tackle anyone. Williams caused season ending injuries to 3 different players, including T.O. back in the '04 season with this cowardly tackling technique. The NFL had to invent a rule just for him and now administers a 15 yard penalty. Williams is one of the worst cover safeties in the game today, prompting Wade Phillips to bench him on obvious passing downs. Now given the fact he can't tackle legally, Williams is totally useless out there on the field.
I think Islstl is the clear runaway winner for the largest overreactions in thread titles in large market areas. Congrats Islstl.
Well if you watch enough football as I do, you would understand what I am saying. Clair won't even defend him.
do you fine him? yeah. ohhhhh yeah. do you kick him out of the league for good? no... not at all. it's dumb to suggest that. Michael Vick isn't banned. PacMan isn't banned. Ricky Williams isn't banned. The dude is just doing what his instincts tell him to do. I don't believe he is trying to injure anyone. I really don't. How is this different than a helmet to helmet hit or any other "dirty" NFL play?
Im glad you know how much football I watch. :hihi: I agree he should be suspended, but your titles are ridiculous. I dont think he intends on hurting anyone but it is hard to break habits. I am sure he has tackled that way his whole life and will now pay the consequences.
I think all of you guys are not breeders where as YO AZZES WOULD BE IN BED OTHERWISE! Although you are all great contributors to society and keeping the great game of football straight, the fact is there could be a fire in your neighbors house there you are working 2nd down and 3 with less then a minute to go. Who is getting the doughnuts? Beer run?
I think with the amount of money these guys make we should eliminate these "pansy rules" instead of adding to them. Remove the helmet to helmet rule. Eliminate anything protecting the quaterback only. Head slaps and horse collars perfectly leagal, and they should also allow the drop kick. It would make the game a bit more fun if you ask me.
The drop kick is still legal. I forget the kickers name but NE did it last year and he actually made it. Helmet to helmet on a QB is understandable since the NFL would suck with the concussions going around in the NFL with the rule in place. Great QBs career would be shortened significantly. I agree with you almost everywhere else with there being too many pansy rules.
