Re: USC Love Fest on ESPN That is really all they have ever done. It is very hard to fill up air time 24//7. They promote what helps them. They are not a NEWS organization. They don't report the NEWS or facts. They promote and give opinions and broadcast entertainment/sports. They are the "Entertainment Sports Programing Network".
Hey, now, Abram Booty was awesome for LSU. As a freshman (1997), Abram was the #2 WR on LSU's team (and he was crucial in our 28-21 upset of #1 Florida with 10 receptions for 116 yards). As a sophomore (1998), Abram was the #1 WR on LSU's team. As a junior (1999), Abram was the #2 WR on LSU's team. As a senior (2000), Abram was injured early in the season. He never recovered from his injury well enough to ever play Div-I ball again. Now, yes, Josh Booty didn't live up to his huge expectations at LSU. As a freshman (1999), Josh was 0-7 as our starting QB, throwing 19 interceptions and only seven TDs. As a sophomore (2000), Josh was 6-3 as our starting QB (and voted to the first team All-SEC Team). At the end of that season, Josh started in our bowl game against Georgia Tech. But at halftime, LSU was losing 3-14 and Josh only completed 42.1% of his passes. So he was benched, and Saban put Rohan Davey in for the rest of the game. At the end of that season, Booty left LSU for the NFL draft (where he was taken as the 172th overall pick -- 6th round). I'd imagine Josh left so early because he was battling both Rohan Davey and Craig Nall (two future NFL draft picks) for the starting QB position the whole time he was at LSU. In fact, when Booty was a freshman, Davey beat him out as the starter. Booty didn't replace Davey until the 3rd game of the season against Auburn (Booty started every game after that until he was benched before the last game against Arkansas). As a sophomore, Booty won the starting job over Davey, but was benched before the fifth game of the season against Tennessee, and Davey became the starter. In the sixth game of the season against Florida, Booty was sent in to replace a struggling Davey. After that, Booty started the rest of the season until Davey replaced him in our bowl game against Georgia Tech.
Re: Here we go again...USC trying to claim a stake as NC or USC:wave: We tried to schedule Idaho, but they were already booked.
Re: Here we go again...USC trying to claim a stake as NC Considering you played Div 1AA Youngstown St this season and scheduled them again for your opener next season, you might not want to take that swipe. I know it must be a proud moment to have the 1979 Zia Bowl winners appear on your schedule 2 years in a row. I'll take Idaho any day over that.
Do you need a room in New Orleans for the big game? I posted an offer in this forum today for a room and someone said you may be looking. My cell phone is 304-641-3842.
Re: Here we go again...USC trying to claim a stake as NC The Citadel Western Illinois Arkansas State Appalachian State These are the 1-AA teams LSU has played since 2002. Youngstown State That is the 1-AA team tOSU has played since 2002. LSU has played 6 games against the Sun Belt since 2002. Ohio State has played 8 games against the MAC since 2002. Each school plays some "pasties" and some tough OOC games.
