Re: Granny endorsing a split National Championship

I could really careless, see ESPN has a love affair with USC, thats obivious. LSU has gained alot of respect and when we win the NC this year, we will be the champions point blank. If thats the case they could split it every year for that matter. At this point its just spliting hairs in my opinion. USC is good, but they lost to Stanford, yea that Stanford that was the end of there season. Everyone else with loses, lost to respectable teams, except Oklahoma.

Re: USC Love Fest on ESPN

I've ALWAYS hated Musberger. especially since the 70's when he hated the Saints for no reason except the Saints sucked then, even more than they seem to suck now.
I could hear the disappointment in his voice in 03 when he announced the Tigers national champions.
I hope I never run into him because it will be my first time in jail.

Re: USC Deserves AP Title (per Yahoo Sports)

Please tell me what that means. How and by whom specifically and for what purpose was USC protected by the Rose Bowl?

As I said would happen, Illinois was a lose/lose situation for USC. We win, Illinois is pegged as not that great and the win was expected. We lose, we get totally hosed. Despite the loss to Stanford, USC should have gone in to the game better than 7th ranked but I am certainly not claiming a shot at the NC game. One more game maybe, but not THE game.

Sounds like LSU and USC have a good bit in common.

This is our second time to the big dance.

Have finished #5 and #3 last two years.

If not for Saban's less than stellar 04' departure season this would be LSU's 5th season with 11 wins. For now we are going on our third year.

And this is also the winningest senior class in LSU history.

And yet last year we couldn't even jump Ohio State and finish at #2 in the AP? But USC should be allowed to jump UGA, Va Tech and others this year.

Now if only we could meet on the field one day. Would be one hell of a game, and IMO the only way to bring an end to the madness.

Do you have a source for this?

Based on an article in the AJC, the AT-LARGE teams were not locked into anything. The article went on to say that the BCS simply creates a pool of teams and that the Rose Bowl was higher in the pecking order this year than the Sugar Bowl.

That was the whole point of the media saying that the Rose Bowl committee chose to go with, "tradition," since the Big Ten berth was not automatically filled.

Why don't ya give that a week or so and pass that judgment after the Tigers and Buckeyes have played. Besides, if that were true then what does that make Tenn. If you don't recall the Vols beat the stuffing out of them a mere few weeks ago. GA played an awesome game to be sure, but lets be honest here. Hawaii, has never been all that, they were recipients of a weak schedule and the first very good team they played "whacked" them...as would most teams in the top 10 would have. Hawaii's weaknesses showed up like spotlites in a black sky last night. Ga game planned this thing perfectly, rush 4, drop everyone else. Take away their passing game they have "nothing"! Their defense looked mediocre at best.

Both bowls lost a host team, OSU and LSU.

I guess that's one way to look at it. The other is the playoff not starting until the 4 winners are known. Symantics my friend. Symantics. :thumb:

Winner of LSU vs. OSU needs to be impressive

While I'm not a fan of the Big Ten and especially OhSU, I hate USC and the media worse! With that said the love USC is getting over beating a good but over-rated Illinois team is truly nauseating to hear, see, and read.

I hate to say this, but the winner of the only college National Title game needs to be impressive and probably needs to win going away to shut USC, UGA and ESPN-led media-loving USC fools up.

So OhSU fans if your team wins, I for one hope it's impressive. USC does not deserve all this love they get every darn year before the only National Title game gets played!

I actually hope the game ends up being the all-time national championship game classic...

Iit kills me how "one-Pete" Carroll loves the BCS when it favors him, but hates it when it doesn't
