Re: USC Deserves AP Title (per Yahoo Sports) They can have all the titles they want. There's only one that counts. :crystal:
Re: USC Deserves AP Title (per Yahoo Sports) Read the whole article. He proceeds to make the case for why USC won't, and probably shouldn't be #1 in AP.
Re: USC Deserves AP Title (per Yahoo Sports) Doesn't really sound like he is pushing for USC to be #1. More like he is pushing for a playoff.
Re: USC Deserves AP Title (per Yahoo Sports) Exactly. I want this deal that USC has with the rose bowl. The AP considers you a national champ for winning the Rose Bowl? Can we get that kind of deal with the Sugar? That would be 3 national championships since 2001 for LSU. Pretty sweet. Dynasty!!
Re: USC Deserves AP Title (per Yahoo Sports) The only way to fix this is a playoff.......but for now the winner of the LSU vs tOSU BCSNCG will be #1............:geaux: :geaux:
Re: USC Deserves AP Title (per Yahoo Sports) Its interesting that their take on USC's slim chances for #1 in the AP rides on Ohio State winning in a close "ugly" win. I would think it would be in USC's favor if a 2 loss LSU ranked at #2 with an ugly win be USC's only hope at a split NC.
Re: USC Deserves AP Title (per Yahoo Sports) That would make them have to consider other deserving teams like UGA and Va Tech. Wouldn't want to make them do that.
Re: USC Deserves AP Title (per Yahoo Sports) I don't care how well they're playing now, any team that loses at home to a 40-point dog is not a national champion. Granny was also endorsing a AP split National Championship on Mike and Mike this morning. He didn't even have OSU or LSU in the top 5. What did we ever do to him (besides consistently beat his USCe teams by at least 30)?
Re: USC Deserves AP Title (per Yahoo Sports) I have no idea how TexTiger came to that conclusion after reading the article. He clearly says that by virtue of USC's loss to Stanford, they shouldn't be crowned anything. Tex, maybe you should read the last two paragraphs before posting.
Re: USC Deserves AP Title (per Yahoo Sports) Oklahoma is the team that worries me most with having an outside shot at claiming the AP title. If they blast a legitimtely great team in West Virginia and LSU wins close, OU has a real shot at an AP title. The problem with an argument for Georgia is that they played a team that didn't deserve to be in any of the top 10 bowls, much less a BCS bowl, as Hawaii proved to be pretty crappy.
