Wouldn't count on a whole lot happening on this front, except for of course Darren Myles. We're fortunate that he was the lead recruiter for Myles while at South Carolina. We can tag team him with whomever LSU has recruiting him. One prospect that committed to South Carolina I would interested in is Tony Straughter. 6'1" 215 lb OLB with 4.55 speed. Resides in Georgia. 11th ranked JC recruit in the entire nation. His dad had planned on moving to South Carolina to be close to him. His dad's main message for me was that 'it doesn't matter where you go to play ball, I'm going to follow you wherever you go.' LSU could use some infusion of experienced talent this coming season at the OLB position. I don't know if Sheppard is SEC material.
Same with the DC (and will be the same with the DL coach) - I don't see him making any real difference. He will help with Myles, but we already lead for him so no big deal.
Jackson made it pretty clear after the Chavis visit hes going to compare LSU to Bama and then make his decision. LSU needs to somehow get JJ to cancel his visit, I think Miles needs to get in his house soon.
Tony is the #1 ranked JUCO LB on Rivals. He is very interested in LSU but the only problem is that he is an early enrollee and his papers are due in 3 days. (If he already signed the papers, he is stuck) However, he said he would be willing to put off enrolling early if LSU came calling. Better start moving if we want him. Chavis also recruited him at Tenn.
If he's willing to put off enrolling early if LSU came calling.. does that mean he is ours if we want him? Provided he didn't send his papers in of course.
If he likes what we have to say and we get in contact with him within 3 days (Not positive if he has signed any papers yet but if he is saying that I assume he didn't).
That would take something just short of a miracle to turn a kid in 3 days when he is all set to start classes.
