In basically a playoff-type game today, Tony Romo let his team down yet again. 3 INTs and one of them a jarrett lee to give the Steelers the game. The Boys did their best impersonation of the Saints today. They gave the Steelers that game.
a playoff game? so the Cowboys are out now? I won't defend the way Romo played and he gift-wrapped the game against a fierce Pittsburgh defense, but this wasn't a playoff game, and the season still moves on.
I meant to say playoff-type game, see edit above. No the Boys aren't out, but as close as the wildcard race is in the NFC, every game down the stretch will be a playoff-type game. Same for the Falcons, Skins, Eagles, Vikings, and even the Saints. Don't get me wrong clair, i like Romo. I even had him in a couple of fantasy leagues this yr. But like Brees, something about these types of games they can't lead their team to victory. Brees did the same thing against the Bucs last week.
The Cowboys had that game in the bag, they were giving Big Ben fits. Bradie James made a nice stop on 4th and goal. I thought the game was over right there. Romo and his receivers were not on the same page. The pick6 was horrible, it really made Romo look bad. As usual, TO mouthing off after tough loss. Cowboys have to win next week against the Giants or they may very well be done.
That Romo pick six was straight out of the Jarrett Lee playbook. It actually makes me feel a little better every time I see one of those--but since I'm a Cowboy's fan, I didn't like seeing this. TO was mouthing off something terrible at the end of the game. They had the game won, just like LSU had the Arkansas game won--and let it all slip away.
Big Ben pretty much gets fits every weekend. Their offensive line has given him little to work with for weeks. I do think that is the difference between he and Romo is Ben finishes when the heat is on. See Kurt Warner. Cmon, not THE Terrel Owens. Why thats just absurd.
This wasn't the only play where Romo and his receivers weren't on the same page:
Would have been great to hear he was throwing under the bus. Fox should have been all over this with a mic. Dammit. A tremendous team player that T.O. is.
for those curious, the 2nd best WR of all-time was very modest after the loss. the 4th down play where we lost... Romo to Witten. 2 of the INTs = Romo to Witten. Our only TD = Romo to Owens. See what I'm trying to say here?
