I know, I think that was his way of saying he made a mistake. The implicit admission was on his part for his mistake. One day I'll get the full admission.
Not in a debate, amigo. One shucks, one jives, and never just stands there and take the spear. I always have a response. Clearly the mistake was by the source with a possibly erroneous chart. I was just fucking with you on the decimal . . . it would have worked on 123.
I always have a response = I'm totally full of sh!t But seriously, back to the point. 650,000 federal jobs weren't lost. In fact, it looks like from the succeeding graph that jobs were actually added since Obama came to office to the tune of 200k-300k jobs. That's the point I was making. Obama has definitely not shrunk government.
Well. he has made cuts. He hasn't expanded it to the tune of how some people make it out to be. Both he and Romney are for cuts, however the difference is in the size of cuts and where those cuts will be. It will really come down to how you see your tax dollars best used. Condoms for kids, or a bad-ass military. (don't take me seriously) Take your pick.
The point I was making is that Obama has shrunk the government workforce. You can't hold him responsible for private job gains/losses and ignore government jobs/losses. You must ignore the census spike, that happens every ten years when temporary census workers are hired.
And I'll reiterate my point. State and local government jobs are a function of money in the budget. Times have been tough. Obama's economy has been shit so local and state governments have been forced to reduce their workforce. This is not through some policy of Obama's, but through his failure to restore the economy and therefore state and local budgets. During that same time, he has increased the federal workforce. That is what he has direct control over. So while state and local governments have been cutting back, he's been increasing the number of federal workers.
Obama's economy has enjoyed 15 straight quarters of GDP growth. Obama's economy has enjoyed 30 straight months of positive job growth resulting in 4.5 million new private-sector jobs. Unemployment is 7.8%. The shit economy was the one the last Republican left us with--down 4.4 million jobs, two unfinished wars, and a crashed financial system with negative GDP.
Don't change the subject. This is a discussion about the size of the government and Obama's role in shrinking it. He has not taken any active role in shrinking the government and furthermore, in spite of economic conditions that have caused governmental job cuts across local and state governments, he has increase the federal government workforce and has not, as you have contended, cut 650k jobs from the federal work force. These are the facts, and they are undisputed.
Actually what you said is Obama shrunk the Federal government and offered a reduced Federal Labor force as an example. Except that is a red herring, and it is no evidence that the red herring is even true. I am still waiting for you to make a logical argument as to how Obama has shrunk the Federal government.
The discussion is about the debate and the topic has changed many times within it. You don't get to make comments about Obama's "poor economy" without a response pointing out just how far Obama has progressed since the absolutely failed economy of the Republicans that you wish to return to office.
