Your efforts singlehandedly won a tough game today against the hated Falcons. You made tackles. You scooped up that fumble and got 19 yds on the return that led to our first TD when we were down by 10 early. And you intercepted Matt Ryan in the end zone on 4th and goal to secure the victory.

I personally apologize for all the bad things fans have said about you. I apologize for having slighted your skills and saying you are old and you suck. You still aren't the greatest coverage guy, but your heart, skills, leadership, and contribution to this defense and this team are appreciated.

I apologize Roman Harper. You gave me a fantastic end to a very busy weekend of traveling to attend live sports events and made my 5 hour drive home to Texas on Sunday night happy rather than sad. You da man. Enjoy your victory.

Ive been a big critic of his as well. He probably played his best game today since the Superbowl run. But, as well as he played, he did give up containment on the big run by Jackson. That said, he obviously atoned for it and made the game winning play.

His game wasn't perfect but it was a pretty good game overall. I'm satisfied with it. It's hard for me to criticize a guy for getting abused by Steven Jackson. That man is a freaking beast.

Yep and he has been a Saints KILLAH over the years. I'm glad they only gave it to him 14 times today. And for trying to make him a receiver at the end of the game.

I don't know if Atlanta was an awesome game by Harper. I mean he recovered a fumble someone else caused and he caught an interception because of an incredible play by the rookie Vaccaro.

I went to that game and paid close attention to him. Ryan seems to rotate safeties in and out a lot, sometimes with 3 safeties on the field. Harper was a difference maker throughout the game. More so than the box score shows. But considering he had the game ending interception (although it wasn't absolutely necessary once the pass was broken up by Vaccaro) , the fumble recovery that led to a game tying touchdown, defended a pass and had 3 tackles, I'll take that as a damn solid effort. He didn't get burned deep once. I'd take that every single week of the season.

I agree. The only 'negative' play he had was on Jackson's long run. He was responsible for the cutback lane and he allowed Jackson to break containment for a huge gain. Still, I believe he more than made up for it with the other plays you mentioned above.

Nope. Watch the play again. He held outside containment and Jackson cut upfield inside of him. He hustled downfield and was in on the tackle.

Well the person that would potentially get burned deep would be the free safety Jenkins. Not the strong safety.

Now Jenkins, except for the horrible angle he took on Douglas with that 50 yard reception, had a pretty solid game, forcing that fumble was a big turning point in the game.

Overall I would say Harper is having a much better season than last year (although that isn't saying a whole lot).

I do like the 3 safety looks we have been giving teams. I like how we are using our guys to get the most out of their ability.
