He had a meeting/rally here in Lake Charles where I heard about 20 people showed up. I'm afraid his time has passed although I hear many people say he is very bright.

Edwin Edwards virtually handed Roemer the governor's office by pulling out of the race the night of the primary. Roemer presided over the legalization of video poker, the lottery and the casino boat system. Other than that, his term was so undistinguished that David Duke beat him in the '91 primary. Not an impressive political resume'.
Roemer was a joke as Governor, he shouldn't even be allowed into conversation about the Presidential race.
True...and yet he wasn't even close to being the worst in our history. Our track record is pretty bad and a good reason we've been ranked so poorly in most quality of life categories. The worst ever was Edith Bunker Blanco. She was dumb as a rock and such an embarrassment for the state.
