stewart mandel from si kept tweeting during the game about how laughable it was for the game to be close. comments like "this reminds me of the '07 game against arkansas. except that arkansas team was good" and "the #5 team in the country is DOWN against a 4-6 Ole Miss at HOME" followed by.."it's over, now voters do your job, rank this team behind (he then listed just about every other 1 loss team)
Non SEC fans will never get the SEC. It's almost like the pros, where any team can win on 'any given Saturday'. Plus, OM is better than their records indicate. I know they got blown out by Tenn, but part of that was the 2 pick/6s Masoli threw. Their one of our biggest rivals and they always play us tough because it's usually their bowl game. Before yesterday, the last 4 games have been decided by 3 points or less; including our last NC year is '07 when we needed OT to beat them.
and, the game was really never in question. at least i did not think so, and was not nervous at all that we would not win it. you are absolutely right, if you just read this summary, it would sound like LSU scraped by. we just need to keep our eye on the ball, keep winning, and everything else will take care of itself.
