I have been to DV and the Nation's Absolute Best Tailgating atmosphere--with, hands down, the most "Realistic" Mascot of all football teams in the USA (College & Pro)--Mike the Tiger, 450# of Bengal/Siberian attitude! Can you spell JEALOUSY? These peeps, especially Northeasterners, come from repressed, bedwetting, zero-alcohol-tolerance, politically correct campuses and now, as adults, they positively GUSH over their Conferences, knowing--deep down in those tiny, brittle, black, pea-sized chips of anthracite that they call their hearts--that they don't hold a candle to LSU, by any measurement worth a tinker's damn; their conferences are not quite the same as the SEC--they know it--we know it--they know we know it! LSU ROCKS, BAMA ROCKS TOO, OLE MISS ROCKED IN DV YESTERDAY TOO., HECK, EVEN NON-CONFERENCE ULM ROCKED--and was more fun to watch than USC this year. LOL. (Ummmm, did I forget to mention Auburn? Uh, ummm, oh, where DID I put that team, it was here a minute ago? Hmmm!). GEAUX TIGERS!
Love your style & wording...the Boards need more erudite commentary, with subtle references to Literature. Keep it up!
I love it when "pundits" -- usually from MidWest or East Coast -- see a top SEC team get a tough game from a lower SEC team, and interpret it as a sign that the SEC is overrated, rather than a sign of the conference's depth.
From ESPN: by Chris Low What we learned in the SEC Week 12: "It’s almost become an art form for Les Miles and his Tigers. They’re 5-0 in games decided by six points or fewer this season as they rallied to beat Ole Miss 43-36 on Saturday thanks to a Stevan Ridley 7-yard touchdown run with 44 seconds remaining. Fittingly, Patrick Peterson sealed it with a leaping interception near the goal line of a last-second Jeremiah Masoli heave in what was almost certainly Peterson’s final game in Tiger Stadium. " Really? I could have sworn the interception was near the 45 yard line. Why make it sound like it was a desperate last ditch effort that kept them from scoring? For someone who didn't see the game, this makes it sound like once again we should have lost, but barely scraped by, instead of focusing on the fact that our QB had a record game, our time management was perfect, we had an awesome 4 minute scoring drive in the last 5 minutes, and overall played a good game against a tough and talented opponent who had nothing to lose and plays LSU harder than any other team nearly every year. what we learned 112110 - College Football Nation Blog - ESPN
