ArKansas did you a big favor by pulling it out in OT. This one is going to leave a mark, either way. They should be around the top 10 and with it being in the Ozarks, LSU can leave a lasting impression.

From my perspective, this now comes down to which West team becomes the second SEC team to the BCS game. ArKansas knows they have a chance. Big game.

I watched the end of this game, and it was the worst "rally" I've ever seen. It made Tennessee having 13 players on the field seem like a hard-fought, well earned, comeback.

Basically, Purdue had a punt blocked at the 5 yard line with 4:00 to play. On the next series Michigan State's QB, Kirk Cousins, runs up the middle on a QB draw. He dives towards the end zone but fumbled forward into the end zone, where a Purdue linebacker was all alone. He jumped on the ball but didn't secure it, and it squirted out from under him into the arms of a trailing Spartan lineman. So, Michigan State scored the game winning TD because of a fumble into the end zone which Purdue failed to recover, all of this was only made possible by terrible punt protection inside Purdue's own 5.

Fast forward to the next possession, when Purdue is attempting to answer with a minute remaining. Their 4th down play consisted of their QB rolling out aimlessly for 15 yards, waiting to get hit, and then throwing the ball directly to the closest Spartan defender. There was not an eligible receiver on screen when the final pass was completed. The ball was simply thrown straight at an MSU player and that was that. Essentially, Purdue gave them the game three times in less than two minutes.

Anyone who watched Purdue-MSU and LSU-Ole Miss on the same day had to come away with it thinking that the Big Ten brand was vastly inferior. I was honestly about to laugh at how crappy that "comeback" was for Michigan State.

MSU had one good game... against Wisconsin at East Lansing. They don't play tOSU. They are not as good as their record. Penn State will put one on them this week in Happy Valley.

LSU is already ranked ahead of them, so what's the worry? MSU will be bumped by both Wisconsin and tOSU and finish up in the CapOne Bowl (who would hate to have them again).

Btw, I watched part of that game plus the LSU/Miss game.... "vastly inferior" would be a real stretch, but it's all in the eye of the beerholder, right?

Big Ten is doing better this year. No championship game will cost the winner if all things are equal. No doubt this is why they made the big move for expansion. I thought Iowa played a good game against the Buckeyes, just don't seem to have that little extra. Guess I know the feeling, hoping for better results come Friday.

don't get too up in arms boys. the national championship system is a joke. no intelligent person can argue with that. root like hell for the tigers, enjoy winning, and put the MNC way down on the list where it belongs.

Having watched both games, I can confidently say that the level of football being played by Michigan St. and Purdue was vastly inferior.

But, as you said, Michigan St. is not as good as their record would indicate so it's unfair to judge the whole Big Ten based on one team. Which is a problem I have with the Big Ten scheduling. Too often the top two teams don't get to play.

I don't buy the 'looking ahead' because LSU had been struggling against Ole Miss the last couple years. Sorry, I'm not up in arms over the lack of respect LSU isn't getting!! At the start, analysts haven't been giving LSU respect all year because they couldn't man handle and depleted UNC team and then the 'lucky' Tennessee game plus LSU hasn't been blowing out anyone except NLU (WOW). And yes, the defense was poorly prepared because it was said Masoli was alot like Newton as far as a mobile QB and LSU couldn't defend it again!! In the end, LSU won and that's the main thing but like I said I believe the Wisconsin and Stanford wins were bigger!! I'll be interested how the pollsters break this down as well!! IMO, LSU is a top 10 team but not a top 5 team!! They better bring their A+ game to beat Arkansas!!

...impressive wins, style points, worthy of being top 10, not worthy of being top 5... the pointless mental masturbation is so tiring. Until there is a playoff system the determination of a major college football champion is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Sounds like somebody needs their mommy!! For all the people here saying they could care less about the media and respect, you all sure are whining alot!! I believe Wisconsin would beat the Tigers. Tigers haven't faired well against Big 10 teams the last 5 years!
