Having lived in Florida I know what you are going through but all that matters is that we kick their arse each season. I happened to live in florida in the late 80's early 90's, the dark ages of LSU football, so at least you have something to brag about. Tell them to enjoy Green and their many trips to Shreveport.
Saban has yet to get a recruit from Louisiana that LSU wanted. If they land Tolliver (which I don't expect), then they'll have one.
How so? The way I see it, LSU has gotten a couple of Alabama recruits that Saban wanted, but not vice-versa. That's a pretty big chink in the armor for those that argue Saban is a better recruiter than Miles.
I was talking about Luther Davis. In Green's case we really weren't on him. But we obviously wanted Davis bad until he developed a relationship with Alabama...thus my splitting hairs comments. And Corley and Jones are bad examples of who is better as a recruiter as Saban was only coach for a month. And I dont care to debate who is a better recruiter, just that either program can spin it any way they want.
We didn't want him (not because of ability, but character). He wanted to come back to LSU but we said no thanks. Thus, I don't think I was splitting hairs. Many people said that Saban would come in & steal recruits from LSU. That has not been the case.
Which makes Reuben Randle, WR Bastrop '09 class, very interesting. Saban has allegedly made Randle the #1 guy on his list. Randle is key for LSU landing a Top 3 recruiting class next year like everyone anticipates.
WYou said he didnt get anyone LSU wanted. Considering he was committed to us, we obviously wanted him at one point, thus my comment about spinning it. Y
