Yeah, we know there's not a ton of talent on defense, but neither is there on ATL and Dan Quinn has got them playing at the top of their game. Plus, with all the jawin going on between him and Payton, it's obvious they're not on the same page. It's time for him to go, but not sure who we could get to replace him mid-season. What a mistake bringing him back. At this point, I'm ready for Payton to go too. The Dolphins can have him.
The Ryan defense doesn't work very well without shutdown corners. You have to have corners that can lock people down so pressure can be sent. If New O had one of those this D would be better.
It wouldn't matter, horrible drafts and free agency have gutted this team of almost all talent. You can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit.
Normally, I agree with that, but look what Dan Quinn, who's a defensive coach, is doing with ATLs shitty D. Now, he may only have first year success like Ryan, but right now, they're playing at a high level.
With the DBs they have on the roster it won't matter. Payton has been horrible in the draft and free agency when it comes to DBs. A lot of the failings of the D fall on his shoulders.
