Kragthorpe's kid actually had decent high school credentials: http://www.isubengals.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=2534&path=football But at 5'11 and 175 pounds, I can't see him getting a realistic look.
I guess it would have looked like nepotism if they would have announced he was joining the team, I'm sure he knows the game being a coaches son.
I had the years reversed. As far as an apology or any references being stopped, that part you can shove up your ass. And you still aren't qualified to give an opinion on a QB and be believed that Kragthorpe and Miles have evaluated both out of HS and with his Penn State career. As far as ignoring me, feel free. I have already ignored several myself.
He has alot to learn with the playbook and all other issues, he will be a necessity if needed, but I dont think we will see him anytime soon, Mett needs the reps and experience before Bolden does. It will be interesting to watch and see how it plays out.
You had the years reversed and the body of your argument collapsed. Your opinion is not based on statistics or any other fact, it is based on what Les Miles says. Whatever coach says goes. Coach can't be wrong! Tell me, do you still believe that if you swallow a watermelon seed a watermelon will grow in your belly? Because your momma told you so.... The part about ignoring you was just a hollow threat. I just can't ignore a train wreck.
Les Miles did NOT quote my stats. It was NOT based upon what Les Miles said. I looked up his stats and simply read 2010 as 2011 and 2011 as 2010's numbers. That still does nothing to take away the strengths I saw in his HS video footage which I have brought up here before...9 minutes which shows quick decisions, accurate passes, strong arm, good mobility, thinks pass before run, etc. Also, it still does not change the fact that in 2 games against Alabama he had better games with lesser offensive talent than Jefferson or Lee had in their 2 games last season against Alabama. Last season for example, Bolden led Penn State to a 4th quarter TD against Alabama the one time they played last season. How many TDs of ANY kind did LSU score against Alabama last season in 2 tries? Psst, it is a number less than 1. I had never heard the watermelon myth...thank goodness they have seedless ones now. As far as watching a train wreck, you are probably the type who would stand on the westbound track with your back to the oncoming train while looking at the eastbound wreck.
Nope, I can see you just fine from here... and back to my original point...If Bolden has to play for any reason, this team is in trouble. No amount of 3 year old high school footage or single 4th quarter drives will convince me otherwise. His college resume is enough to tell me he is an average at best, double threat QB, which means he is not great at either and will get killed in the SEC. BTW... Darron Thomas was a great dual threat QB who was 0-2 in SEC play.
How about Michael Vick...dual threat. How about Tim Tebow...dual threat. How about Cam Newton...duel threat. To put every supposed duel threat QB in the failure basket is just as wrong as putting every pro style QB in the success one. I judge players as individuals not due to who they followed at the position or what kind of QB or WR they supposedly are. Bolden was at a place that had a good RB and horrible WRs. Someone else brought that up and I looked up the Alabama - Penn State video. First play of the game from scrimmage, Bolden delivers a 50 yard pass, the guy is not even running or anything, it hits his hands and he drops the ball. Later in the game, a nice pass to the TE, running down the field, mediocre hit by Alabama, he coughs up the football. Oh yeah, I am stunned that Bolden couldn't do more on offense with the 3 Stooges as his WR and TE. PSU didn't have the weapons on offense that LSU had last season. You brought up a good example in Darron Thomas but correct me if I'm wrong. Wasn't that the player who wanted to come to LSU but LSU didnt' want to keep him at QB? Hmmm, believe it was. In fact, he might have even committed to LSU but LSU wouldn't say he could play QB. So, I guess you hate to admit this, but you and Les Miles AGREED on Darron Thomas.
OK, let's play You-Be-The-Coach. You go into the North Texas game, and you've set the depth chart at 1. Mettenberger, 2. Bolden, 3. Rivers - or - Randall. Midway through the 3rd quarter, we're up 42-3, and you're ready to sit Mett down for the night. Who are you putting in? Bolden? Rivers? or Randall? I'm not going with Bolden in that case. I'm getting one of the other two some game experience.
