compare to Mett (#8) and Rivers (#17) at today's practice: 0:05 -- Mett makes a throw, Mett makes another throw 0:30 -- Mett makes a throw, Rivers makes a throw, Mett makes a throw 0:55 -- Mett makes a throw, Rivers makes a throw, Mett makes a throw 2:03 -- Mett makes a throw, Rivers makes a throw, Mett makes a throw, Rivers makes a throw, Rivers makes a throw, Rivers makes a throw, Mett makes a throw 2:45 -- LSU coach makes a throw like a little girl 3:20 -- Mett makes a throw
Thanks for the video. What I found most interesting (not the QB stuff because quite frankly between short passes, no defensive coverage, shakey cameras, and changing to the WR focus, I couldn't tell much) was the WR drill where they ran across the field getting a pass from one side, then the other side, then the first side again, etc. I assume that means LSU will be going "super hurry up" this season and even flipping field direction between plays. My serious guess is that it really is to force into habit focus and alertness in play. You don't focus...you aren't alert....you get the football in the face guard! BTW, I have never seen a motion like Jefferson. I told my brother for the last couple of years, "have you noticed that when Jefferson releases the ball it looks like it going to go straight down into the ground." What I later found out is why I got that optical illusion. He brought back the ball so far (literally behind his ear) that by the time the ball left his hand, I figured he had to be throwing it into the ground. As you said, "crazy windup."
Was watching the videos and trying to match up jersey numbers to the roster. Two freshmen caught my eye, if I'm ID'ing them correctly. Dillon Gordon looked good in the receiver's alternating sides drill, and Jerq Sandolph seems to have exceptionally quick feet. Bolden, I thought, showed a very quick, compact release, even quicker than Mett.
Psst, Mr Math 101 wannabe, my entire post wasn't 500 words long. But hey, I will give you one thing...you were not idiot enough to address my issues because quite frankly it would just highlight how hypocritical you are. Apparently you think the PSU staff was smart enough to bench the guy but then stupid enough to refuse his transfer request after 2010 season. And then you amazingly say that if you aren't at a Tebow or Newton standard and a dual threat QB, you aren't worth much. Like I said, just prove you can't accurately count the number of words, admit you can't follow logical arguments, and avoid your own hypocrisy and stupidity as just pointed out. Thanks for making this so easy to prove your ignorance on these issues. BTW, you also never answered why benching J. Russell for the Capital One bowl start against Iowa didn't prove in your mind how worthless the future #1 pick in the NFL draft was. Helpful hint: Community colleges can teach you how to count. I say you take advantage of that since apparently your counting to 500 needs some work.
What about figurative language? If so, I say you take advantage of that since apparaently you have no idea. Oh, and here, keep this handy.
Not a freshman, but a guy I honestly thought would have played more in his FR season (now a SO I believe) and looked good to me with a diving catch early in the video and just looks pretty big for someone supposedly 5'11" (Jarrett Fobbs #5). I remember watching him on his HS video highlights and he was returning kicks/punts a lot. I thought he might end up being one of the return guys at LSU.
LOL....you counted your words. Your issues run deep little man. We need to discuss why you ignore the people that show you your arse Name some average dual threat QBs that won a National Chamionship. I can name average QBs (who were traditional QBs) that did. Lets do a remedial current historical lesson....Matt Mauck, Matt Flynn, AJ Mckeron There you go counting your words again. I must have really hurt you with that one. Your post said Lemarcus Russell. I tried to spare you ridicule on that one. You are a young man. You probably don't remember those days very well. I did hurt your feelings! I'm sorry little buddy. Next time I will count your words when I can't suffer the time to read them.
Nope I didn't count my words, but I actually have a concept of math. I know what 500 words look like and that post wasn't even close. Matt Mauck was IMO a dual threat QB. He ran an awful lot which is how he broke his leg BTW. The guy from Tennessee (Tee Martin) who won the NC after Manning left is another. BTW, why are you constantly running away from the topic. I have said Bolden is a BACKUP. Do you not know what "backup" means. Thus your question should be related to teams that won the NC due to have a BACKUP dual threat QB. I always call him Lemarcus for some reason, Jamarcus or whatever, the point is still valid. You know how I know you can't debate this very well...you bring up points and then when I question you on them, you change the subject or just go for trivial nonsense. 1) You CLAIM that Penn State staff was so right in benching Bolden yet when I brought up how Paterno REFUSED to release Bolden from his scholarship just one year earlier, you are silent 2) You CLAIM that being benched is a big deal yet it happens all the time. I gave you the LEmarcus/Jamarcus Russell example by little Nicky in the Iowa game (didn't even start him instead going with one of LSU's worst QBs of all time (Marcus Randle....please check the spelling would you, boy) 3) You CLAIM that unless you are a great dual threat QB AND win the Heisman you are not successful. IF you were going to answer any of these, that would be one thing. Instead you run away like a little girl and flood the board with the same messages over and over again. Oh, and your comedy routine needs a LOT of work. So, congrats, you are the next one on IGNORE. Indeed, persistence in being stupid and delusional in your posts count and earned you that. Oh, and BTW, for your own sake, learn the difference between starter and backup. You obviously don't know the difference.
Bottom line on Rob Bolden: Miles and staff did a SUPERB job picking up Bolden. Mettenberger is clearly the starter but unless the development of Rivers is the best kept secret since the KFC original recipe formula, LSU could NOT win the NC with Rivers at QB if Mettenberger got hurt. From what I have seen with Bolden on video both in HS and college, LSU COULD win the NC with Bolden at QB although I believe it would be considerably harder. I was right when I said Jefferson or Lee could not lead LSU to a NC...Bolden is better than either of those. I trust Miles and Kragthorpe evaluation a lot more than posters who simply have some nonsense opinion about dual threat QBs like if they don't win the Heisman they aren't any good or that just because you are a pro style QB you are automatically better. Silly nonsense stereotyping and knowledgeable football fans know it.
