Not trying to argue either, but you have no clue if they can do that without a cross. Like I said...it's THEIR way of dealing with THEIR loss. And another thing..."property you don't own" is relative. If it's city/county or parish/state property, and the municipality doesn't mind, then there's no problem with it. It doesn't give some wackjob the right to tear it down. I know I'm a backwoods redneck and live in redneckville, but I promise you if anybody messed with my buddies memorial, I wouldn't be the only person in the firing squad. That whole town suffered a loss that day...and my buddy is well liked and respected in that little redneck town.
Up here in Plano, the police will let temporary memorials be up for around 2 weeks. In '07, a Plano police officer was killed in an accident, and there was a memorial for him. The other high-profile memorial I can remember was put up where a family of five was killed by an red light running idiot driving 100 on city streets. This happened in '08, and every year around the anniversary, there is another memorial for a couple of weeks.
If you are bothered by a cross on the side of the highway, you are seriously in need of a life. Seriously.
Greetings Sir SF. :thumb: Don't know about V, we keep in touch but she doesn't post as much anymore. I'm sure she shares the opinion of the other sheila's here and still thinks you're hot though.
