Heard that Jim Dunaway of D&B B'Ham radio is tweeting that Chizak is hinting that AU will wear road whites. Have y'all heard anything about this?
I thought so too, but a week or so ago, one of the announcers said that the road team has the color choice now. Everyone knows of LSU preference to the old home colors of white jerseys. I've wondered why LSU has been wearing the purple jerseys at home so much. Personally, I much prefer the dark jerseys rather than the visitorys white. They look sooo much better from my seats in the stadium!
NCAA rules state the home team wears their dark colors unless granted permission to wear white by the visiting team. the ad's of the SEC got together, and decided that no team would turn down that request from a conference school. so, if the home team wants to wear white in an SEC game, they will. LSUs policy has been white for home conference games, and for the home home opener*, and purple for non-conference games. *that's if the non-conference opponent agrees to let us wear white. so, unless Auburn wants to geaux against an agreement with the SEC, or LSU had a change of heart, LSU will be wearing white this weekend.
Sorry it is a TTU/tamu clip, but here is your b/w Texas Tech University :: Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library
god i hope not. our darks SUCK. besides, i think AU and LSUs darks are bit too close for the NCAA or SEC to ever allow that. only way it would ever happen is with 2 completely different colors. like when USC wore cardinal and UCLA wore powder blue.
sorry, i just didn't feel like having john come behind me with a 4 page google article explaining the difference between red and cardinal.
