Personally, I don't see it as much of a big deal. Everyone (UF opponents) say it. RJF just happened to say it aloud. And he wasn't saying he was going to bust Tebow's knee illegally.... Every defensive player wants to knock the opponent's QB out--hell--they want to knock every offensive player out. I'd be worried if we had a player that DIDN'T want to "lay the lumber" on an opponent.
Personally I don't buy it. RJF hasn't displayed this type of behavior in the past. I believe it is merely internet rumor. Unlike Herbie @ ESPN I don't trust internet sources and the Orlando Sentinel is trying to sell papers to UF fans. The paper has more to gain by reporting something out of context than RJF and teamates for making such a statement. He probably said "take him out of his game" not take him out of the game. In fact when was the last time you heard any of the LSU players speak in this manner, especially before a big game?:helmet::crystal::crystal::LSU231::geauxtige
If the first five minutes of the game cost you the game then you probably weren't in good shape to win the game anyway. I don't think this has much impact on the game. Sure, UF will come out chest thumping, crotch grabbing and all that good stuff but once the sweat starts beading up and pouring, a few hits get administered by both teams things will fall back in line.
know those parents that go into denial mode as soon as something negative is said about their kids? we see lots of that here as well.
