Did anyone happen to see the Ricky Jean-Francois quote running on the ESPN ticker? It was either towards the end of the Saint's game or after it during Sportscenter. Basically it said that he and the rest of the LSU defense were going to try and knock Tebow out of the game. I can't believe he would say this and give UF such easy bulletin board material. Is this just ESPN tryin to stir the pot and taking something out of context?
I'll take the penalty again if I get to see Tebow's grinning a$$ jogging the sideline, acting like he is going to go out of bounds, and get hammered by a Tiger. (that was a BS call btw)
so many LSU players got told by Urban Meyer that LSU was the devil that LSU is a "hurricane school", that Les Miles would go to Michigan, that Les wouldn't win with Nick's players, etc... while they were being recruited. Now that they got to LSU and saw those things were all lies, yeah, this game means a lot more to the LSU guys.
So many? I thought it was only a few. Both teams will come out as if their season is on the line. They both know it is.
every LSU player from florida, virtually. and even the guys from louisiana get recruited by Florida preliminarily. Florida is the one school Miles always flags to the NCAA for their negative recruiting. Everyone else's pitch is: "Look how great it is here." Their pitch is: "Look how bad it is over there."
Wow. I would hope that somehow his comments were taken out of context. The writer does throw in that Ricky, etc., expressed respect for Tebow, but doesn't really elaborate or put quotes. But you never want to say that about another team's QB when you're going on the road. It sounds thuggish and I don't like it. I mean, I know he's from Miami and everything... But you never know the whole story with these journalists sometimes. And let's be real here, it took basically multiple miracles for us to win against Tebow and Florida last year and that was in Tiger Stadium with one of the loudest crowds I've ever heard. And I also think our D was better up to that same point last year (and pretty scary). Tebow almost beat us by himself last year so I don't know if he's the best person to talk $hit about. Of course, I don't think Florida (or Tebow) has looked as good as last year so far. But there's always that game where they can put it together and I don't think they need any more motivation since they're looking for revenge anyway. Also, I don't think they wanna lose two games in a row at The Swamp. Hopefully, we will come with some pressure packages (which I haven't seem much of in comparison to last year) and crowd those crossing routes because I'm a little nervous from what I saw against MSU. If not, we will be Harvin's Bioootch. I still think we can run on them though with Scott. However, if Scott gets up after a run with a knife wound in his back, we can all thank Ricky Jean.
I'm just not a fan of giving a good team bulletin board material, especially when you're about to go into their house.
If you're going to say it, do it in the confines of the locker room among your team mates. The last thing you want to do is say it to a reporter. As others have written that's exactly what Meyer is looking for and he will utilize it to the max.
