Do you blame Miles? NO...I dont. RJF fugged up with his bulletin board comments and Im glad Miles is making a statement to the players (and apologist fans) for it.
Yeah, I'm thinking there's some discipline angles in there as well. It was an ignorant thing to say when you're going on the road against a great QB who has really kicked our a$$es twice (fortunately, we won one of the games). Tebow acted gracious, but you can bet he was fired up about it. You don't give a team extra motivation (like they don't have enough already). Also, it makes LSU look bad and then everyone wants us to lose. Not that it really matters...but we don't want to become USC. The best reason not to have said anything would be that Ricky hasn't done much of anything great this year. Our D-line has not exactly blown people off the line in passing situations either. Hopefully we'll be getting good pressure tomorrow.
This isn't a trash talking site like many out there are. I don't think most mind colorful commentary, but with only a handful of posts, mean spirited posts about an injured tiger is testing the limits of our hospitality. If you're looking to only trash talk, try out some of the other lsu boards that are more receptive to that.
Yeah, but everyone knew Beckwith was out for a while. With Ricky, it's a big surprise that he's not even going. You can dress out 75 players on the road. That's a lot. It could be nothing, who knows? It is very strange though. At least they won't be showing him 500 times during the game and talking about the comments.
Sorry if someone posted, even sorrier to hear it's official: http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/30828219.html
For non-conference games I think you can travel as many as you want. And I think home games (conference or non-conference) you can dress as many as you want. But road conference games you can only travel 80 (?) players. Usually, Thursday after practices the coaches post the travel squad list. It is usually posted by offense and defense on the bulletin board near the locker room. If have to make the most out of who you bring. I imagine a coach could burn one of those seats with a player not going to play but has a lot of leadership qualites even in street cloths. I do not think there is a rule that he can not travel on his own and stand on the side line in street cloths.
