    River Parishes article on Perrilloux

    http://www.lobservateur.com/articles/2004/12/06/news/sports/sports02.txt

He says he is now 90% sure it is Texas, but it is between Texas and LSU. He says he thinks Vince Young will move to a different position next year and the QB race will be wide open??????? That is the first I have heard that, and I live in Texas.

Hopefully this kid sees the light and comes to LSU...He has a better chance here playing early then Texas.

Yesterday in a phone interview with TigerRag he said that Young was getting better as a QB, was working on his passing a lot and hoped to enter the NFL after his junior year, and that is why he was picking Texas over LSU. Who is telling the truth? Or does RP change his story everytime he talks to someone?

this is a few weeks old in my estimation. since this article, he's said publicly that it was more like 70/30 or 60/40...can't remember exactly.

I can't believe that RP isn't totally BSing. Young would be a total fool to enter the draft. The guy improved, but he still isn't an NFL caliber QB. It just seems like something is up to me. I think he knows Young isn't that good.

Sounds like someone may be lying to him about Young in order to sway his decision. If we don't get him, I'm still optimistic about Russell. Too many have written him off, but let's not forget how much talent he has and has yet to display.

Also, in that article they mention that RP has yet to take his official visit to Texas, but he says he really loves their campus. Maybe he's been there on an unofficial visit.

eh whats the difference. winning quarterbacks do not even have to be that physically talented. find me any kid that can throw a bit, but throws smart, makes good decisions, few mistakes and understands football and defenses, and we are set. the matt maucks and tom bradys of the world are ok with me. i dont think you need a superman at QB. you need supermen at wr and rb and lb and ss and cb, but not qb so much. i will take chad pennington over michael vick any day.

i dont care if we get perriloux, i think we can win with strong d and a no-frills qb. in fact sometimes i think you might be better off in college with a less athletic quarterback because he has had to learn fundamentals instead of just dominating high school kids with size and speed and strength. i suppose that is less true in the pros, because the true elites have to be physically as well as fundamentally better. but in college i dont see how it matters much. just be calm and toss touchdowns. you dont have to run a 4.3 40 or bench press 350 pounds.

I'm getting sick of this kid. He knows where he is going. He just likes hearing his name on TV, radio.

you'd like hearing yours too, i bet. having grownups cater to your every whim as a 17 year old would have to be cool.

hell, adults love attention, I can't imagine a teenager not loving it. nothing wrong with it, he's a kid nonetheless. then again, maybe he is undecided. only he really knows.
