Alabama....... 84 The absolute best team at getting the players on NSD to actually enroll is Texas, who only lost 2 recruits in the past 5 years. The absolute worst team was Alabama, who has lost a whopping 15 players that never enrolled (11 of which were at least a 4 star rating). LSU lost one 5 star player, three 4 star players, and four 3 star players over that same 5 year period (8 players total). I do not know if the 5 star player they are referring to is Janzen Jackson, which never signed an LOI with LSU. Or possibly DeAndre Brown.
Nice list! UFs number of 4 & 5 star recruits is extremely impressive. That's good company to keep, too. I know I should let this go, but I can't. For years and years, we heard how a team with LSUs talent shouldn't ever lose. Each of these teams has talent, and as shown, LSU is actually the least of these. Yet LSU is right there with these same teams in wins over the same period. LSU, Bama, and UF (2) all have BCS Championships, but USC and TX have none during this time frame. LSU has more SEC wins in the last ten years than anyone else. It never was as bad as it seemed, and even though LSU is extremely talented year in and year out, so are others. It takes a few breaks to go all the way, and sometimes the breaks don't go your way. I'm glad our talent didn't wind up 5-7 like Mack Brown's talent at UT.
Yeah, I agree with all of this, but still our offense sucked, and it shouldn't have, irregardless of all the reasons (QB probs, RP/ZL, etc). Hopefully, that part of the ship will be righted with our new OC. LSU/CLM have certainly been impressive recruiting wise. When you are in the top 5 over a long stretch of time, that speaks volumes about the big picture of our program. Way to go Les!
i believe it will be. because i believe that for the first time in a few years, we will truly have qb development, instead of qb stagnation. and to add to what fish said.... there are to teams on that top five list that we play every year. every. freakin. year. that we hold our own in those series is impressive and partially because we have equally strong recruiting. imo, just further proof the sec lives to beat each other up in the strongest conference there is. the one number i would like to have seen there is the average number of recruits.
1. Bama..... 158.....26.3 2. LSU........ 153.....25.5 3. Florida.... 138.....23.0 4. Texas..... 136.....22.7 5. USC....... 131.....21.8
What's crazy is before this past recruiting season USC had barely averaged the maximum 20 recruits that rivals uses to compute a teams points. But Kiifin stupidly picked up 29 recruits with lots of 3 star players, something Carroll would never have done. Now they will be strapped with many less scholarships to hand out next year.
i guess petey was patient and cherry picked everything he could and left the rest. kitten has no patience in anything. i predict he is gonna make things sooooo much worse there. i mean given he was there during the time the things happened that got them probation, and now they brought back the fox to guard the henhouse? petey wasnt a saint, but kitten is just flat out sleeze. their recruiting and recruiting practices could be interesting to watch the next few years, especially as kitten gets desperate.
