Honestly, I hate seeing any kid committing to a school and then decommitting. Everyone has a right to change their mind, but unless Mack and/or his staff is getting canned, I frown on it. I know I hated when Robert Lane decommitted from LSU. Whatever happens, I hope it is for the best for both schools. Everyone knows both schools could use a super player like RP.

I saw a headline on Insiders that Perriloux visited with our coaches today. That is all I was able to ascertain as I do not pay the money to read the article.

He said LSU has definitely made up ground since he committed to UT. He said he knows they need a QB to step up bad and that is also a big consideration. He said Texas is in the lead about 65/35 right now and that anything can happen in a month. He is taking his official to LSU this weekend along with many other super big recruits.

This is all I need to know that this kid is coming to LSU.

Congrats Ryan. You will have a tremendous career as a Tiger.

Supposedly Dauterive enjoys the schmoozing and wining/dining he gets from schools across the country. If he were to become a school that just feeds players into LSU, he wouldn't receive as much of that as he has in the past.

There is much more to it than that though. He was picked to be an assitant coach at LSU a long time ago when he was coach at Opelousas High I believe and things fell through, maybe the coachwas fired. Then came the Hallman and Dumbardo regimes and the guy didn't like them at all due to the characters they were recruiting and other issues, which was probably good judgement on his part. Since then Saban has been working on their relationship and it appeared to be much better as LD was at the Dome last December for LSU's workout's in preps for the Sugar. I'm not sure if he still holds any bad feelings for LSU now or not, he even mentioned how LSU fans were blaming him when RP made his decision and said he had nothing to do with it.

You won't hate it so much when RP decomits from the horns to the Tigers...

Seriously though, it's just part of life...

I used to be pretty tight w/ a guy who was an assistant basketball coach at a school where Dauterive was AD, and according to him, Dauterive is just a pr!ck...simple as that.

If he can deliver RP to Tiger Stadium I will personally take him to Ruth's Chris and a night of wining / dining - hell, I'll even put my arm around him in public :thumb:
