I truly hate Rivals and will never pay for the site again, last year is the first year I stopped paying for the Gump-run site and I am happy I did. I have to admit the first few months were hard and I wanted to sign back up but I am glad I did not. This is another year where it just proves that site is such a pro-Bama site it makes me want to puke!!! Here is their latest; "Alabama is biggest winner of final Rivals250" which makes me want to puke in the first place but it is not how Bama players that have committed to play for Bama "including players in the top 100" moved up on the list, by now we all expect that. It is what they did to LSU recruits that makes me sick and they do it to LSU year after year those f*cking gumps!!! They almost moved Avery Johnson outside the rivals 250 he is now 247, but they moved down every single current commit - Tashiro Davis is now out of the top 100 at 125 and Derek Edinburgh was moved all the way out of the top 250. The two of the biggest loser programs LSU & Auburn, if people don't think this is a conspiracy it happens every freaking year. I hope LSU fans stop paying for this site "like I did" because they are laughing at us that is for sure. This happens every year, as my grandfather always said "fool me once shame on you, fool me every time than I am the idiot" they don't fool me anymore I wish other Tiger fans from LSU and Auburn would ban that site and not pay for the service anymore they are bias and prejudice and if you pay for that site they are just stealing your money. They F*CKING SUCK!!! They should just change their name to Gumpville everyone knows that is what they are!!!!
Who cares, if the kid can play he can play no matter what number or star is put on him. These mythical national championship recruiting classes are just plain stupid. If they meant anything Mack Brown would be a god and Boise State would never win a game period. Have fun keeping up with recruiting, but take it for what it's worth, basically something to do football wise during the offseason. Take a look back at the top 100 recruits from four of five years ago and I bet most of them you will be saying who the hell is he. I am more concerned about Crystal and trying to understand why I still am having trouble appreciating a very special season, that was ruined by one bad game and the treatment of a player with true quality of character and a quick release, for another with "legs" and a criminal record. Sorry, but I digress!
Everyone needs to stop putting so much stock into "Star" rankings. They mean absolutely nothing. There are so many flaws in the system. Look at Texas. They have the #1 or #2 class every year. How are they doing the last 2-3 years ? Florida ? What about Arkansas ? They havent had a top 30 class I think in years. Went 11-2 two years in a row in the toughest division in college football. Look at how many Stars the best pure football player LSU has had in years (Jacob Hester) had when he signed. They mean nothing guys, nothing at all.
well on bull tiger droppings they say the same and ban tiger fans for defending lsu.so i was banned because i don't like gumps
Recruiting rankings are a guide that gives me a feel of what type of players we get. Whether we finish 1 or 10 is of little matter. We recruit on need as well and sometimes need doesn't translate to highest rankings. Also remember Hester, Mo & TM7 were 2 or 3 stars. Finally development of signees is critical. With the exception of JJ & JL LSU has done a pretty good job of developing signees. Keep track of recruiting rankings but don't live or die by them.
TT - not trying to put you down but get your facts straight Ark class rank by rivals in 2011 was 24th and 2009 16th both well within the top 30. That being said they definitely have outperformed but anyone who doesn't think that all the services that rank classes and recruits are wrong, than they are sadly mistaken and truly don't know much about recruiting. Does that mean some recruits rankings are missed with all the recruits that are graded, no obviously some are missed. Does that mean every highly rated recruit pans out, no some fall flat on their face. That being said these they are more right than they are wrong! All I am saying is that Rivals, because they founder was a Gump and has always had a Gump bias in ratings. This is no fluke they always have their recruits move up after they commit in re-accessments. I have been following recruiting for a long time and this is a pattern plain and simple. If people choose to ignore that it is their choice. But it is certainly ironic when LSU is ranked high up in the recruiting services "like after Kiel committed" everyone goes look how high we are ranked and how much higher do you think we can get when the rest of the class commits. And when things go the opposite way all of a sudden people start trying to say that the ratings don't matter. Yeah riiiiiiight !!!!!!
In the end, recruiting is only one-third of the recipe for success. Development of talent and then proper implementation of those talents are the other two critical areas that lead to a championship-level program which LSU currently boasts. Rivals may or may not like LSU recruits as much as another service, but that doesn't ultimately hinder LSU in any way as long as our coaches find the players they feel give them a great chance to develop and put into great positions to succeed with. So far under Les Miles LSU has done just fine with or without Rivals' stamp of approval.
Yeah. That's why Bama sucks. Rivals does have a Bama bias, but make no mistake about it. The teams that win national championships are the teams that regularly finish in the top 10 in the recruiting rankings.
