Not sure I would say better, but Boggs was damn good. Pretty much agree with all of this. So are you saying Boggs may have beenon the juice? If so, that's the first time I ever hear his name mentioned in the steroid talks.
Mysteriously, Wade Boggs went from 2 homers in 1993 to a whopping 11 homers in 94, then returned back to earth with only 5 homers in 95. Juiced? I would like to think so. I just wish we could revoke his hall status.
The incredible thing about Boggs, if the stories are true, is that he produced great numbers after chasin' road hos every danged night. Like Mantle. There should be a separate wing in the hall for these guys. I tip my cap.
you're dating yourself. I didn't go back that far. But yes Carew one of the best pure hitters the game has ever seen.
not the seasons I would have used '86 = 8 hr '87 = 24 hr '88 = 5 hr The 11 HR season isnt a big stretch considering how many times he hit 8 or so. The 24 jumped out at me when I just looked at his stats though. I was young then, but don't remember him having that much pop.
I agree if we can insert the word "singles" in there. Albert Pujols may be the best hitter I have ever seen. Batting average is not a very good way to measure a player's overall offensive worth.
I knew about that but 1987 is not known as part of the steroid era. 1994 could be considered part of it however.
