Dave Dixon, driving force behind Superdome, dies | NOLA.com

For the unenlightened, Dave Dixon was the driving force behind the awarding of an NFL franchise to New Orleans in 1966, and the visionary behind the design and construction of the Superdome.

In his spare time, he was the founder of the USFL and World Championship Tennis.

We owe a debt of gratitute to Mr. Dixon, and I for one am very happy that he lived to see the Saints win it all.

RIP Dave Dixon, you were THE MAN. :thumb: Saintslogo |lombardi|

So can somebody PLEASE explain to me why Tom Benson couldn't get this guy a SB ring?

He WAS THE GUY who brought the franchise AND the revolutionary stadium to New Orleans!
