From the Tulane game, it looks like there is some definite potential from Ridley:milesmic:

"Nonsense... what was the excuse last year... he had 4 good games at the beginning of the year"

That's from the TU game thread.

"don't tell me the Scott up the middle play is going to work game in and game out especially in the SEC especially since I have seen it's non-effectiveness for 2 years now. It was obvious it wasn't going to work middle of last year, I feel silly for having to point out the obvious"

My point is/was, he did more damage AFTER the midway point that before it. I feel silly for having to point out the obvious.

Some threads I said 4 other 5... that play has been a dud since the MSU game last year. Only a blind person could say other wise.... I mean if you want to try out on Tulane and say then it's success be my guess... good luck against Alabama and cody next week.

It has not worked constantly... it basically hasn't worked against SEC teams since the 5th game last year. Maybe we can schedule Harvard next year so that the play will be successful, but it isn't going to work against most SEC teams especially since everyone has seen it for 2 freaking years.

    It's an offense KILLER.

Scott is a great kid, what is not great is people trying to make him something he is clearly not. I made this call before this season even started... I WAS RIGHT. It's not Scott's fault, he is simply playing as hard as he can.

I am tired of talking about this nonsense.... IT HAS NOT WORKED AND IT WON'T WORK CONSTANTLY. PERIOD END OF STORY. TO SAY THIS HAS WORKED WOULD BE REWRITING HISTORY... IT SUCKS.

Sure he could have a big game here or there but it kills your whole offense in between. It should be called the I formation DRIVE killer.

But I have been a Ridley fan since we signed him. I just don't view everything in a vacuum like most on here , and am gonna temper my enthusiasm a bit til I see it vs. some real competition.

This may come as a total shock to you, but in a big way...I agree with you. I'll let that sink in a bit.

OK, now. I'm just jacking with you...but your passion on this subject sometimes comes across as Scott bashing...and he scored most of those 18 TDS in the second half of the season last year. I do agree though that it's not fooling anyone anymore.

I love the guy... I love the way he gives everything but sometimes that is not enough and to be honest just like a lot of the offensive problems it's really the fault of the OC. All the offensive players are playing hard iMHO... although I think some of them shouldn't be in there.

As far as Scott, he is a FB not a TB. What he lacks you can't teach, which is unfortunate because I really like the guy.

The Scott play is over and has been for well over a season it doesn't matter how many TDs he has on his resume. I'm done here, I certainly am not a Scott basher but I do call it like it is.... he is a FB, that is not a bad thing. And there certainly is a time and place for him... the Florida game he was actually effective and the OC stopped calling it.

Well hate to bust some of your bubbles, but Scott is going to be a feature back in teh NFL within the next 3 years. He hasn't had a hole to run through all season. I feel bad for him, he would have been a third round pick if he would have left last year, and could at least be getting a check right now. As it stands, his stock has probably dropped some due to the horrendous oline we have.

Ridley looked awesome last night, and in my opinion will be THE GUY next year, but it was due to our second string being miles ahead of Tulane's second string. They had garage size holes for him to run through last night.

He hit em with some want to though. I think he knows next year is his time and he seems very eager to show us he is ready.

I can understand that. But it's better than him only getting 2-3 yards a carry against the Tulane line. :milesmic:

Ridley seemed to be able to see the holes a little better and slip into them,
Scott is a knock you on your ass type runner that usually will do better
later in the game, after hitting the same linebacker for 30 minutes or so. I
    like both of them playing.

Scott was tried at fullback and it didn't work out. He just can't block very well. Fullbacks don't carry the ball at LSU.
