Don't know much about either of them, but a Tigerbeat Article says that Miles is gonna work Ridley in now that Murph is gone for the season. With already a loaded backfield, carries for either Ridley or Ford might be at a minimum and I don't know who should get the rock and the experience for the future.

    What you guys think?

Redshirt the future. Ridley is a good running back and has earned his chance to play.

Definitely! Ridley is also very young and very good. He is also more prepared to play at this point. No reason to burn a RS on Ford for a few plays a game.

If Ford can play and contribute how is it wasting a year? If i want to teach my daughter how to swim, im going to put her in the water, not have her sit by the pool and watch other people swim.

If she can only be in the pool for 4 years then you might want to have her take notes for awhile before getting in.

That's just it, he is not going to contribute. How much was Murphy playing? Ford is much less SEC ready than Murphy was and he almost never saw the field. Unless he is going to break into the top two, which he is not, it would indeed be a wasted year of eligibility.

I am a HUGE proponent of Ford. I think that fella is going to be one hell of a back in the SEC. But, if Ridley is 100%, you definitely go with him. That dude showed serious promise in his minimal PT last year. Seemed like every time he touched the ball, we were all like 'Damn, who the hell is that?!' Give him a chance to get his reps so he can be the leader next year.

I hope Ridley makes a full recovery from that recent knee surgery and rehab. Ridley looked unstoppable in that drive he played against Tulane last season.

    From today's news:

"Ridley will play," Miles said after practice Wednesday. "His rehabilitation went well, and he got ahead going into camp. He's in a position to play, and we're going to count on him."

From the LSUSport's bio for Ridley...

Injured knee early in spring practice ... Underwent knee surgery during the spring, but is expected to be back for fall camp ... Will get his share of carries in 2009.
