An unspecified knee injury may keep him out for the rest of the spring: http://blog.nola.com/lsusports/2009/03/lsu_tailback_stevan_ridley_inj.html
Per droppings it was his ACL. Reporte 4-6 month recovery and he'll be granted an extra year of eligibility.
Sux. Hope the freshman works out, otherwise C. Scott may not get the senior year he deserves. K. Williams and Murphy, however, may benefit in terms of PT at tailback. Depth is certainly a big issue. Calhoun needs a year in the weight room/cafeteria. He's small.
Extra year might come into play if he has complications down the road but as of now he is expected back to practice in August. If he has issues with the knee or we are getting by fine with the other RBs next season then I could see him sitting out next year and getting a medical hardship.
FWIW. Miles said in the presser that he's out for spring but will be back by August. He refused to confirm surgery, but word is Ridley's going under knife soon. Calhoun took reps at TB.
