He has not committed to OM, but definately will if the staff don't want any more WRs after the two Mitchells. Of course Crawford is a risk not to qualify, so maybe they take Dixon and the two Mitchells (Dixon may not qualify either though). It's an RP vs. Orgeron/LD battle...I think RP would win if all things were equal (with the offers).

Playing time maybe, but look who you are playing with.

I think you mean 5th or 6th with that other school from Mississippi. I love the Egg Bowl.

Well, you know what? If playing that much earlier at Ole Miss gets Dixon's rocks off...then fine. Let him go.

We still have Brandon LaFell who is going to dazzle before leaving (if his old recruiting highlight films are anything like he really is) and if we get one or both Mitchells (Chris and/or Jared) then we're going to be set.

With the limited # of spots left, I wouldn't be surprised to see Miles tell Dixon that there is no room left for him. It appears that the Mitchell kids are considered higher prospects and I can't see us signing more than two WR's in lieu of OL or DL recruits.
But I guess we have to rememeber that Jared is considered a top MLB draft pick so if Miles is sure that he is gone, then he could probably take Ricky as well.

I'm hoping that when Jared Mitchell visits, Smoke shows up and talks to him and offers him the same opportunities that Chris Jackson has (or "had" prior to his injury).

Mitchell could try his hand at both sports and see in a year or so where his skills best fit and give him the greater chance at making it to the pro level in either sport.

Laugh if you so desire, but the man is making strides...big time....I am VERY surprised. Remember Brent Schaeffer that was starting at Tenn.? He left and went to college of the Sequoias. Today, he will anounce whether he will go to Wisconsin, NC State, or Ole Miss. He has stated that he really would like to compete against Tenn. and show them they made a mistake. Remember Jerrell Powe from Waynesbore HS? DT 6'3" 360 lb. He went to Hargrave (Va) Academy to get his grades up. He's back. They just got one of the best LB out of Ca. (Jonathan Cornell) It was between OM, USC, and UCLA. He said he wanted to get away from home, wanted to play in the SEC, and wanted to play for Orgeron. RB Cordera Eason of Meridian is to make his choice known today from OM, Ala, or Auburn. OM is the only official visit he took to date. His best friend has already committed to OM. Corey Actis from Bakersfield HS Ca. OL 6'6' 290 lb...Josh Davis OL 6'6' 295 lb.. I could go on, but I'm sure you are not THAT interested.
(AP) Rebs hope to land Schaeffer, who could elevate a class that ranks No. 13 in the Rivals.com recruiting rankings and No. 11 on Scout.com's list.
I don't understand it. Had his w/l been EVEN DECENT, he might have really done something!!!!

I gotta say, I'm pretty impressed with his recruiting abilities so far. However, he seems to be taking a few "questionable" kids, with academics & so forth. So we'll see how many actually qualify. This is not to even mention his inability to keep talented players on the team. At the end of the day, Ole Miss isn't going to have all that much talent out on the field.

I agree he is a great recruiter. he is doing a great job this year. But if you can't coach then who cares how many great kids you sign.

On the Dixon note if he is worried about playing time then why is he looking at ole miss? They have 6 athletes and 3 wr commits already
