Guys look for Richard Murphy to be huge this year. I think that if we didnt have williams and scott he would put up some great numbers but with him having to share the load he want have the huge numbers. But i tell you right now check the stats at the end of the year and you will see who is being the most productive......i still get goose bumps about the first down against florida

Well, we heard that about Murphy last year, too. He often looked quite good when he was in, but not spectacular and not enough to pass Scott or Williams. With Hester gone, Murphy will get the football in a regular rotation this season. The depth we have there will help keep all three backs healthy through a long, rough SEC season.

I was the main guy on the Murphy bandwagon and I still am.

He just is hurt, because he isn't a runningback.

He is an insane athlete who just so happens to be playing runningback. We'll see if they can make him "fit the mold" better, because no doubt he is the slipperiest guy LSU has in the backfield, if not on the entire roster.

KW, CS and RM looked spectacular and put up ridiculous per/carry numbers because we used them properly. They were never tired, but many times, the opposing defense was exhausted. All are very talented but we will see if they can take the grind with Hester gone. Note that Hester did not miss any games despite the pounding he took(and gave).

Murphy is great and should get more carries this year, but I don't see him jumping Williams or Scott in the rotation. His body type, quickness and running style remind me a great deal of Harvey Williams.

Murphy was actually lining up at WR a few times this past season, so the coaches were trying to find a way to get him on the field.

I think he'll continue to be our change of pace & be spectacular when he plays.

I remember you being big on him pre-season. I was pimpin KW and though he's been very productive I thought he would've been able to run tween the tackles more than he can.

I agree. So many fans are fooled by his yds/carry and don't realize it was because our coaches fitted his touches to his strengths and used him in situations/play calls he was most suited to.

Anxious to see all three this year.

I agree with most of the assessments on this thread. KW, Scott, Murphy and Holliday looked good because we used them in situations/positions that they would be best at.

Not taking anything away from their abilities- merely crediting the coaches!

Much like our military- we have a gabillion weapons/assets at our disposal with each bringing something different to the battlefield. We employ each asset to give us both results and an advantage!

Based on our offensive performance last year, I would say that Miles and Crowton know what they're doing!

pretty good way to cite the military as an example of something, unlike some coach 2 states over to the east.

    Thanks!

Unlike that coach 2 states over, I served in the military and understand/appreciate what they go through and what kind of "toys" they have!
