Good point but I think Les knows he can't improve on his situation here. Besides, even for natives, it's too fking cold in Michigan.
well that's true. i guess my feeling on it is, it's not like Les has been ever totally embraced by a majority (whether they're right or not) of the fan base. i would hate to see him go, but Les doesn't owe us anything. now if he bolts for UGA or AU.......
:geaux: I've also heard his family, especially the kids, really love it here and are heavily involved in sports and the community in general. And the kids have basically grown up here, so La. is "home" for them. Stuff like that will be taken into acct. before Les makes any type of move. And I believe Les really loves it at LSU and I don't think he leaves. This is his program now from top to bottom and Saban has been exorcised from the bldg. But I guess you can never say never. :LSU231:
The only thing I could see that is maybe worse today than it was in 2007, when Miles' was supposably going to Michigan, is less fan approval. If LSU wins out and ends up 12-1, which will also be good enough for at least #5, the fan support will change dramatically, I believe. On the other hand, if we lose out or get blown out or worse yet, lose b/c of time mgmt. issues, then it could be a very different situation altogether. I say no. Miles will not leave, and more importantly, LSU will finish strong. GEAUX TIGERS!!
Les Miles' home is actually in Ohio, not Michigan. Sure, he's an alum of Michigan but I am not sure that the "call of home" is as strong as everyone assumes it to be. Also, I think coaches that return to their Alma Mater walk into a situation with impossible expectations and usually don't end up working out that well in the long run. A couple of recent examples that come to mind are Al Groh at UVA and Ralph Friedgen at Maryland.
If he is fired, I wonder how much of it is a result of his off the field issues and how much is a result of their on the field record?
