    Don't forget 1958 - NOLA Sugar Bowl! :)

Where are you from originally? If you are from Oregon, your insular thinking would not be tolerated in a big-time sports city like Boston. No disrespect intended towards you. I have yet to meet an Oregon fan who doesn't think they should be in the title game, that they are better now than they were earlier in the season, and that doesn't think they would beat us in a rematch. I admire the passion, but....

wow...sorry, but that is very disrespectful. Maybe I should just assume you don't know what "insular" means?

Nice post, I think you will be welcomed here by most.

I think we can beat Okie and Arky though.

Well, like I said, I didn't mean any disrespect. Apparently, I disrespected you and for that, I apologize. But in your answer I think you answered my question. I think I also made an error in assuming you lived in Boston. Again, my apologies.

After reading through your posts, I see the trend here. You are a Duck fan, not an LSU fan. You respected LSU in the loss, and chose to admire the team. All good.

BUT, you sound like other ORegon fans and sportswriters, Canzano comes to mind, demanding a playoff. Why? Because there is a good chance you don't get back to the BCSNCG. This actually bolsters my original point in the OP. And you can check another thread discussing the insular thinking I see in Oregon. I'm sorry you are offended by that, but as a native New Orleanian all too familiar with your state, I call it like I see it. If you can't take the heat on a La. board , then I don't know what to tell you. I wasn't trying to be personally disrespectful to you, and that is that best I will be able to do. You have obviously come back to visit upon thinking that you are back in the national championship discussion, not out of some love for us. But thanks for visiting all the same. We enjoy the perspective of other fans.

You can read here: http://forums.tigerfan.com/tigers-den/106351-emerald-green-lemon-yellow-18.html post 356. Insular in the sense that you are arguing for a playoff and you probably think that everyone else should want a playoff as well. Oregon, generally, wants to impose a playoff system on everyone else because you guys often feel slighted, and you have been slighted before, early in the BCS era in fact. But not everyone else wants a playoff system. And for many in New Orleans, any discussion of a playoff system would have to find a way to include the major Bowls. If you don't do that, you will never get the major support you need for a playoff system. It just won't happen as you won't have the money to back it, unless Phil Knight is going to pay out over $100M a year in bowl-like payouts.
