Wouldn't doubt it but I highly suspect that Alabama could beat any of the top 5 teams as can LSU. Hell, send Saban's Tide into Oregon or Oklahoma or Oklahoma State on any given Saturday and if I had to bet the "family jewels" I'd be wearing Crimson...

I don't think they are as fast as LSU but they are a helluva lot faster than WE thought!

What they are is a bigger, more powerful LSU with DBs every bit as good as ours and more impressive LBs, more powerful OL (better when #75 is healthy) & DL and a superb set of RBs.

I agree with the poster above who referenced OU if they beat Okie St. Let's assume LSU wins out as well. Why OU? They would be the ones that the voters might choose since Oregon and Bama already lost to us. Of course, the big albatross around OU's neck is losing to TT at home in a really inexplicable loss.

I can easily see the voters deciding who they want of the one-loss group to face LSU. How do you deny OU of the three if the other two lost to LSU?

Yes, LSU has a hard road ahead to win out. Arky and then a red-hot UGA if we get past Arky. Tough as nails...all season long.

Oregon fan is obnoxious, complains a lot, and always feels entitled to something. They are a good team. I try to give them props where deserved, but I really don't like them.

They do realize we were down our original starting QB for that game and the second guy helped score 40 points on them with 1 week prep?

The only legitimate argument they may have is if they claim LSU wouldn't score 40 points with JJ as the starting QB.

Oregon would be a better matchup than y'all seem to think and I am of the opinion that Alabama is just a little bit better everywhere except the kicking game.

But you know what? We're a young team who will have a better QB from a pure passing perspective (next season) so I'm quite content at the moment.

I've come to the conclusion that the only real way for Oregon to get back in the title game is for LSU to lose, probably to Arky. Let's look at the BCS top-5 right now:

LSU
Okie St.
Bama
Oregon
OU

If Okie St. wins out, they are obviously in. That would leave Bama, Oregon and could introduce Arky into the mix. But let's assume OU does, in fact, beat OSU. If LSU wins out, our opponent would be either of Bama, Oregon, or OU. The computers will give lots of love to OU. Then the voters will have to decide who they want to face LSU, a team that has already lost to us this year (Bama and Oregon) or one that hasn't?

I think they go with OU in this scenario and Oregon is left hanging out to dry. Oregon's best chance now is for LSU to lose and if we don't, they are screwed.

So the good folks of Oregon, as well as some of the talking heads on ESPN, are now saying that Oregon deserves a rematch with LSU in the BCSNCG. Their case goes like this:

1) The game against LSU was much closer than the score indicated, and even still, Oregon put 27 points on LSU and only lost by 13.

2) Oregon played LSU better than Alabama and therefore deserves to jump Alabama in the BCS polls.

3) Oregon is much faster now than they were at the start of the season - and many are saying that they would now beat LSU in a rematch.

4) Alabama lost to LSU at home - the end. We don't want to discuss the nature of this game. They just shouldn't get another chance because we said so. After all, you lost at home.

5) The game that we played against LSU might as well have been last year. This team is so much different and better now.

This is all in contradistinction to the following facts:

1) The original game was close - in the first half. LSU absolutely dominated and destroyed Oregon in the second half of that game. LSU gave up some meaningless points in the end after the game was long over. Maybe in hindsight that should have been prevented to shut these whining fools up.

2) Oregon did not play us better than Alabama did. We dominated Oregon and destroyed them in the second half. The Alabama game was a clash of the Titans with both teams exchanging blows for more than 60 minutes. The game was very nearly a draw. There is no comparison between the Oregon and Alabama games.

3) Oregon is running at the same speed now it was early in the year. Typically, Oregon slows down a step late in the season. LSU's defense has only gotten better as the season went on. Now it could be that Oregon's offense was slowed down because of our defense, and it could be that our defense wasn't as good because of Oregon's offense in that first game - best case scenario from Oregon's point-of-view. Put it all together, though, and we still beat them in convincing fashion.

4) Everyone seems to have forgotten about Okie St. If they have anything to say about it, they will be in the BCS title game.

5) At the end of the day, if people don't want to see a rematch involving LSU and Alabama, then why the hell would they want to see a rematch involving LSU and Oregon? That makes even less sense.

6) The west coast whiners are coming. People are starting to feel "entitled" and I think it sucks. You had your chance and you got your ass kicked. I commend you for scheduling the game. That took some 'nads. Good for you. Now go play in the Rose Bowl.

7) Obviously, this thing isn't over. LSU still must win out, and we obviously have a much tougher road ahead than the Ducks, just as we have had a much tougher road to this point.

At this point, with all the whining that is out there and sure to come, I'm settling on wanting to see an LSU-Okie St. matchup. Let's see if it happens. :crystal::crystal::crystal:
