A solid win. Nothing more, nothing less.

This one dude has too much power over the rankings and the millions of dollars to be made. This kind of power is susceptible to all kinds of outside influences. If someone had info on him, say an affair, they could blackmail him. Someone with big money could offer him millions of dollars for his endorsement. There are lots of diffrent things that you can come up with. He could just not like a team and blackball them. Maybe a team beat him down when he was a player and he just won't give them a good word.

Not just Kirt, any one person that has that much influence over an entire industry isn't good. Yes, the rankings, and who plays in what bowl is an industry. A team like osu would get a massive bump if they played for a nc. This is just more of a reason for a play-off system with all the divison champs and the two highest ranked non champions in the bcs. This would take lots of the power the media has away.

I bet Herbie and the Suckeyes would like a "Do-Over" and would love to play Michigan ... Had their azzes beaten half-to-death that year by Florida ... Then LSU killed the REST OF THE LIVING AZZ OF OSU ...

They were fully beaten to death and have never recovered ... why herbie hates LSU :hihi:

Interesting... many on this board think Herbie is an tOSU mouthpiece. He was so vilified in Columbus, where he was living, that he moved to Nashville.

These are the kinds of articles that could help turn the tide of opinion (no pun intended  ). Still, the rejoinder that Bama should fall back on is "we are better". Whether the Big-12 is better than the SEC top to bottom simply is irrelevant. LSU and Bama are the 2 best teams in cfb, and it ain't even close.

I don't support Bama's return for the second shot, but I bring up these points because I'd like to see a writer try to effectively deal with them.

I think just the former will do.

All he has to do is pull the trigger for Okie State. He doesn't have to pull it extra hard. It's going to discharge, regardless.

WEll .. for Okie States sake, and for the sake of CFB in general, I hope Okie State wins, and Herbie does pull that trigger.

I mean really, I don't think the viewership for the NC game will be quite as big as it could be if they do the rematch. SEC vs SEC pulls in the SEC. SEC vs Big 12 pulls in both conferences.
