The bad news is...we're arguing. The good news is...we're arguing about which 5* will be the 3rd wide receiver!!
If we establish the running game, expect the coaching staff to open up the offense to some 3 and 4 receiver shotgun sets. All of these guys will see significant playing time, regardless of depth chart status. There are too many tools for Gary Crowton to play with. He hasn't had an offense this much talent since he's been here, as far as game-changing playmakers anyway.
Actually, I think TT is the best if he really gets a shot, to be honest I have never been a huge LaFell fan, not that he is bad because he isn't. Just my take on things.
Yeah you lost me on Lafell. He is the most natural looking receiver I have seen in quite a while. He will do great things in the NFL.
I agree. Think back to when he dropped passes like TO in Dallas. He's done a complete 180 since then. Brandon Lafell is the truth. He's had three full years of playing the best that the SEC has to offer. His route-running, his ability to catch on the move, his ability to use his hands and not rely solely on body catches. This man is gonna be a beast in the league. Should be a 1st round draft pick. Reuben Randle's got some catching up to do. Sure, he looks excellent in practice, but he's still a freshman. I still think RR will get plenty of touches this year though.
Anyone not sold on LaFell has not been paying attention. Even when he got hit with his reputation for dropping balls, I felt that was unwarranted. Aside from the one really bad volleyball tip against Auburn, he didn't drop any more passes than Doucet that season, yet he was the one who got stuck with the reputation. He is pretty much money on any 3rd and 5-7. He gets open on bubble screens and quick slants routinely and always makes the first man miss. We're gonna miss BLF and it's a shame more people haven't realized it until now.
Based on the limited playing time he has gotten. To me LaFell is the safe bet not necessarily the bet I would make. He's not trash, it's simply my opinion. I have just not been that high on him, maybe all the drops over the first couple of years. He does his job and he fights for yardage nothing wrong with that, the ability TT has you just can't teach. IMHO. He had a great freshman year for as little time he could get on the field, even last year he was the 3rd guy and last year wasn't exactly the best time to be a WR at LSU anyway. TT is the deep threat, if he toughens up over the middle there is no reason why he couldn't be the best WR in the SEC.... but he has to do it and they have to throw the ball. Just my take.
