A 40 time is a stat, the college recruiters can tell you in high school he was not a speed demon. I say so what? More to football and life than a stat or 40 time. He had no real moves According to stats Hester was the 5th best RB on LSU in 2007 at 4.9YPC, stats can lie even thought they might be correct. I would say he was clearly the best RB in 2007, stats or no stats, the team simply played better with him. The only reason Saban gave him a spot was that he Saban saw him in person when he was recruiting Booty. He was watching Booty and he said he keep seeing a big pile of bodies being moved down the field and underneath the pile moving it was Hester with the ball.
Oh and don't forget that Rivals listed him with a 4.6 forty and having offers from Texas, ND, Miami, Oregon, OU, and Texas Tech among others.
You can laugh all you want I remember Saban saying it. He had no intentions of offering Hester. Heck that was joke for a while, if I remember correctly even Hester use to say the guys gave him a hard time because his two star rivals rank brought overall team recruiting score from 1st to 2nd team ranking. Who cares was his point.
Saban said a lot of things but it is not hard to find out about a guy who started as a freshman at one of the top schools in the state who has big time BCS offers. He obviously had intentions of offering since he was in fact offered.
Haven't been on in awhile, but i get on here today and... wait is it ok to call this douchebag a douchebag? Because if it is okay to call this douchebag a douchebag, then for the record, I would like this douchebag to know he is a douchebag. But that is just my opinion. I dont care if the douchebag likes it or not.
It's all opinion, what is a good stat? Is Hester being the 5th best RB in 2007 on LSU a clear indication of his performance, I would think not. You stat whores kill me.
