It's better than booing, and will further help set "Tiger Stadium" apart from other wannabe "Death Valley's". It seems like other coaches try to wait until the Tigers come out (remember Earl Bruce/Ohio State several years ago) - knowing that most home fans won't boo when their home team comes out. But a few renditions of "Tiger Bait" sends the proper message to the "visitors" as well as supports the home team. GEAUX TIGERS!! :lsug:
We used to yell Tiger Bait way back in the nineties . . . what has happened? In fact the only time I remember yelling anything other than Tiger Bait was at an LSU basketball game, when we all yelled at the Duke bus . . . "Laettner is a ___" (I don't know if it is appropriate to actually post what we yelled at him). But that was the only time I remember a group of LSU fans not yelling "Tiger Bait" at the visiting team before the game at any sporting event.
We had a small Tigerbait chant going in my section of the student section last week, but it was quickly drowned out by boos once WIU entered the field:angry:
Hmmm I have to agree with this one. 92,000 yelling Tiger Bait would be much cooler than "Boo" and more traditional. Plus I really don't care for booing in any form.
Booing the opponent is not nearly as intimidating as Tiger Baiting them. I have noticed more Tiger Baiters in our new section of West Upper than our old section. Let's get united on this thing for Saturday and beyond.:geaux: :lsug:
They're not saying that you don't hear it--but rather, a collective chant of it when the visiting team enters onto the field. Sure, you'll hear it being chanted outside the stadium, in the direction of any group of visiting fans, but not in unison INSIDE the stadium, which, I agree, would be pretty impressive.
